摘要： In one embodiment, a storage system comprises: a first type interface 25 being operable to communicate with a server 1 using a remote memory access; a second type interface 23 being operable to communicate with the server 1 using a block I/O (Input/Output) access; a memory; and a controller 22 being operable to manage (1) a first portion 100 of storage areas of the memory to allocate for storing data, which is to be stored in a physical address space managed by an operating system on the server 1 and which is sent from the server 1 via the first type interface 25, and (2) a second portion 110 of the storage areas of the memory to allocate for caching data, which is sent from the server 1 to a logical volume of the storage system 2 via the second type interface 23 and which is to be stored in a storage device of the storage system 2 corresponding to the logical volume.

In one embodiment, a computer comprises a memory and a controller. The controller is operable to: manage a virtual volume to be provided for a server 100; manage a plurality of logical volumes provided from a plurality of storage systems 210; manage a condition to be required of the virtual volume, the condition relating to a location in which data to be sent to the virtual volume is stored; manage location information of each of the plurality of logical volumes, the location information of a logical volume being defined based on a location of the logical volume; and control to map the virtual volume to a logical volume of the plurality of logical volumes, based on the condition of the virtual volume and the location information of the logical volumes.
