    • In a broadcasting type information providing system, a moving body 10 includes a bidirectional communication unit 13 which performs communication with an information providing center 21, an information processing unit 11 which communicates request information necessary for a user via the bidirectional communication unit 13 to the information providing center 21 as well as presents answer information with respect to the request information to the user and a broadcast receiving unit 14 which receives the answer information broadcasted from a broadcasting station 22, and the information providing center 21 generates the answer information with respect to the request information being transmitted from the moving body 10 as well as selects a broadcasting station 22 of which service area covers the position of the moving body 10 depending on the position of the moving body 10 detected either at the side of the moving body 10 or at the side of the information providing center 21 and causes the selected broadcasting station 21 to broadcast the answer information, thereby when transferring information from the information providing center 21 to the moving body 10, an optimum communication means and broadcasting station can be selected.

    • In a navigation system displaying a traffic information in which an information processing device (1) and a display (2) are mounted on a moving body, a format for a traffic information and an information belonging thereto is standardized between different types of navigation devices. Application programs for processing information written in the standardized format are loaded in a common intermediate code between different types of navigation devices. The information processing device includes a converting means which reads-in the application programs written in the intermediate code and converts the same into application programs specific to the current navigation device and means for partially replacing and supplementing the application programs written in the intermediate code via an information medium. Whereby, when modifying and/or supplementing of such as a traffic information for a navigation system, the revision of application programs necessary for processing the same is simplified and realized with a low cost and a traffic information and an information belonging thereto are broadly provided while eliminating a device type dependency.

    • In order to edit print information, the print information from a memory (1) may be printed on a sheet by a printing arrangement (2) and the sheet transported to a window (4) at which the sheet is supported so that it is aligned with an editing unit (5) and an editing display (6). Editing data are then input via the editing unit (5) and are displayed by the editing display (6) so that the editing data appear in the window (4) at the same position as the part of the print information to be edited. At the same time the information in the memory (1) may be changed in accordance with the editing. In this way, the print information can be displayed clearly, and the editing data input quickly. The sheet may be of paper but may be a composite film (47) having low molecular weight liquid crystal material (49) dispersed in high molecular weight material (48) such as high molecular weight liquid crystal material.
