    • The present invention relates to a stator of a rotating electric machine includes a stator core (112), and multiphase stator coils (114) incorporated in the stator core (112). The stator core (112) is formed by connecting a plurality of split core pieces. Each of the stator coils (114) is wound around a coil bobbin (112BO) installed on the outer periphery of the tooth portion of a respective one of the core pieces, by a concentrated winding method; and around mutually adjacent tooth portions, the respective coils (114) that have the same phase and mutually different in the winding direction are continuously wound. A crossover wire (EL) for connecting the first stator coil (114(U1+)) wound around the first tooth portion and the second stator coil (114(U1-)) wound around the second tooth portion, is located at a position further toward the central side in the axial direction of the coil bobbin (112BO) than the end portion of the coil bobbin (112BO), inclusive of this end portion.

The motor control device (20) includes a drive unit (40) which drives the motor (10), and a control unit (28) which controls the motor (10). The drive unit (40) is disposed in a position in the control device accommodation portion (32), the position being in proximity to the motor accommodation portion (31).

    • A rotary electric machine having improved coil connection reliability, simplified coil end processing steps and improved workability based on an improved components mounting method is to be provided. Flat type conductors (201 - 208) are inserted in a stacked state into each of slots formed in a stator core, and a side face of a preceding-stage winding terminal end (22) and a side face of a succeeding-stage winding start end (23) in the flat type conductors are lapped and connected to constitute an assembly of stator coils. The stator coil assembly comprises plural coil groups, and one electrode is connected to one conductor end in the coil groups, while another electrode is moved in a successive manner to connect preceding- and succeeding-stage winding terminal and start ends of the conductors. Further, an insulating ring (61) with crossover conductors (37, 62, 63) laid thereon is combined with such stator coil assembly to connect winding terminal and start ends of the stator coil assembly, thereby constituting a predetermined winding circuit.
