    • The present invention relates to a method for monitoring a computer system in which one manager computer (104) is connected to a plurality of agent computers (101, 102, and 103) over a network. The manager computer (104) sends information on the types of log to be collected to the plurality of agent computers (101, 102, and 103). In response, the plurality of agent computers (101, 102, and 103) collect the specified types of log. Then, the plurality of agent computers (101, 102, and 103) send the collected logs to the manager computer (104). Thus, the plurality of agent computers (101, 102, and 103) are able to collect the types of log specified by the manager computer (104).

    • A managing computer is arranged by an acquiring device (106) for acquiring log information and event information from any of plural computers connected via a network to each other, the log information indicating as to whether or not an execution of an operation process is carried out under normal condition, and the event information indicating concisely as to whether or not an execution of an operation process is carried out under normal condition; a data controller (101) for storing into a database, operation definition information used to define a schedule of process operations executed in the plural computers in relation to the log information and the event information acquired by the acquiring device; and a display device (308) for displaying the operation definition information in relation to event information related to a process operation defined by the operation definition information with reference to the information stored in the database. Each of the log information and the event information owns a tag indicative of said log information and a tag representative of said event information. This managing computer may have a definition device (104) for forming a schedule of process operations which are commonly executed in all of the plural computers; and a distributor (106) for distributing the process operation schedule formed by the definition device to all of the plural computers. The display device displays on the same display screen, the operation definition information and the event information in relation to predetermined log information among the log information. The acquiring device acquires a preselected sort of log information at predetermined timing. The acquiring device acquires information other than the preselected sort of log information in response to a request. Thus, an integrated management screen can be provided to a user.

    • In a computer system to which a plurality of computers (202:207) are connected, a managing computer (201) manages operations performed in the respective computers in an integrated manner, or manages the operations in relation to the computers themselves. As a result, problems occurring in the processes can be easily solved, and furthermore a load on a network (212) is reduced. The managing computer (201) manages a series of operations in an integrated manner in which when an operation is executed by each of the plurality of computers, or by the respective computers in combination with each other, the managing computer performs an operation designated when a specific event happens to occur on a computer. The managing computer displays each of the operations executed on the computers by a symbol; displays an execution sequence of the operations by a link with a direction among symbols; and further displays an execution condition of the computer by a color of a symbol. As a consequence, both an operation monitor screen and a computer monitor screen are mutually switched to display the switched monitor screen while setting a relationship between the computers and the operations, and the relationship between the operations and the computers are clearly represented.
