    • An ink-jet recording method for forming an image by discharging a liquid functional material onto a recording medium by a full-line type ink-jet head having discharge nozzles arranged in a widthwise direction substantially perpendicular to a transporting direction of the recording medium (S), includes: determining a range (L) free of image recording between images (I) recorded intermittently on the recording medium (S); effecting discharge or pressurization purge of the liquid functional material in the range (L) free of image recording on the recording medium; and lowering a fluidity of the liquid functional material discharged.

    • The inkjet recording apparatus (100) includes: an abnormal nozzle detective waveform signal generating device (180D) which generates a drive signal having an abnormal nozzle detective waveform including a waveform that is different from a recording waveform and applied to pressure generating elements (258) when performing ejection for abnormality detection to detect an abnormal nozzle among nozzles (251); an abnormal nozzle detective device (144, 172) which identifies the abnormal nozzle showing an ejection abnormality from results of the ejection for abnormality detection; a correction control device (172) which corrects image data in such a manner that ejection is stopped from the identified abnormal nozzle and a desired image is recorded by the nozzles other than the abnormal nozzle; and a recording ejection control device (172, 180) which performs image recording by controlling ejection from the nozzles other than the abnormal nozzle in accordance with the image data that has been corrected by the correction control device (172).
