摘要： A sensor for sensing the position of a body which moves linearly in an environment, the sensor (120) comprising an assembly including means (12) for defining a cavity insulated from the environment and coupling means (130) for coupling the motion of the body (26) to the outside of the environment, the coupling means (130) being adapted to be connected to the body (26) to move linearly therewith, the assembly further including a sensor part (128) disposed within the cavity and coupled by the coupling means (130) to move in response to the movement of the body (26) wherein the assembly has a property which is a function of the position of the sensor part (128). This sensor allows metering of a fluid, such as paint, entering or/and discharged from a canister (12) of a system for transfer of fluids.

摘要： A planetary type speed reducer provides a large central hole for passing electric and service lines for a robot therethrough. The speed reducer may be used in either a self-motorized or an externally-motorized rotary joint. In a predetermined embodiment, the speed reducer includes a cylindrical carrier and multiple compound gear planets which are rotatably mounted on their respective shafts some of which, in turn, are eccentrically mounted on the carrier. A method for manufacturing the gear planets is also provided. Each of the gears has two sections or parts which are shifted angularly relative to each other and are adapted to engage adjacent fixed output gears of the rotary joint.

摘要： A motorized rotary joint (20) for robots integrates a joint bearing with a power transmission, such as a planetary type speed reducer (22), and provides a large central hole (24) for passing electric and service lines therethrough. The rotary joint includes a built-in rotor (92) and stator (98) arrangement within the same joint housing structure, thus allowing the electric motor to share the same bearings and housing structure with the speed reducer. Preferably, the rotor also carries planets (42) of the reducer and the stator is either integral or coupled to a housing (29) of the reducer. The rotary joint also accommodates an encoder (32'), a circuit board (131) having electronic components thereon and a built-in brake (32'') to provide a totally integrated, intelligent rotary joint. A method for constructing a modular robot using the rotary joint is also provided, wherein several such rotary joints (134,136,138,140,142,144) are coupled to simple structural elements (146,148,150,152,154,156) by means of bolted interfaces to construct a multi-joint robot of an articulated structure. Such a modular robot has low cost, is easy to maintain and service, and can be readily and speedily constructed and reconfigured from integrated modular components.
