In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical clip applier is provided having a housing (12) with a trigger (16) movably coupled thereto and an elongate shaft (18) extending therefrom with opposed jaws (20) formed on a distal end thereof. The trigger is adapted to advance a clip to position the clip between the jaws, and to move the jaws from an open position to a closed position to crimp the clip positioned therebetween.

摘要： A drive system for a surgical instrument is disclosed. The system can comprise a drive assembly, a first output assembly, and a second output assembly. The drive assembly can be coupled to a motor, and can operably transmit a force from the motor to the first output assembly and/or the second output assembly. The drive system can further comprise a shifter assembly, which can shift engagement of the drive assembly between the first output assembly and the second output assembly. A spring-loaded latch for releasably securing a drive member of n handle to a drive member socket of a coupling arrangement in a surgical end effector is also disclosed.

摘要： A hand held surgical instrument for grasping and clamping tissue is disclosed. The surgical instrument has a handle body assembly (40) and an elongated shaft (80). The shaft (80) is connected to the handle body assembly (40) at a proximal end and has an end effector (95) at a distal end. The end effector (95) is operably coupled to an actuation member (105) extending from the handle body (40). The actuation member (105) is moveable toward and away from the handle body (40) to open and close the end effector (95). A locking tab (155) is located on the handle body assembly (40) and is moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A locking rod (108) is movably engaged with a hole in the locking tab (155). When the locking tab (155) is in the unlocked position, the actuation member (105) is free to move towards and away from the handle body assembly (40) to open and close the end effector (95). When the locking tab (155) is in the locked position, movement to open the actuation member (105) is prevented. The handle body assembly (40) also has release trigger (120) extending from the handle body assembly (40) and operably coupled to the locking tab (155). Consecutive reciprocations of the release trigger (120) alternates the locking tab (155) between the locked position and the unlocked position.
