    • An agricultural harvester (10) includes a first power unit which is couplable with a first primary load (18). The first primary load (18) includes a threshing system load. A second power unit has a threshold power output and is couplable with a second primary load (26). The second primary load includes a propulsion load.     • A residue spreader control system (500) for an agricultural combine (100) is provided that includes an operator input device (510) for entering a wind direction and wind speed, a satellite navigation receiver (512) for providing signals indicating the bearing of the agricultural combine, a residue spreader (130) including crop residue deflectors (132) at the rear of the combine that are movable by an actuator (134) to steer the crop residue to the left or the right of the rear of the combine, and an ECU (501) connected to all of these devices to receive the wind direction and/or speed from the operator, to determine the bearing of the combine traveling through the field harvesting crops, and to calculate a control signal to applied to the actuator (134), wherein the control signal repositions the actuator (134) and crop deflectors (132) to counteract the effects of wind improperly blowing the residue off to one side of the combine.

The ECU (144) contains an economic operating curve (154, 156, 158) that relates the force to the size of the gap. The ECU (144) is configured to receive a signal from the force sensor (134) and a signal from the position sensor (132), and based upon those signals, to control the actuator (122, 124) to change the force and the size of the gap (130) to a point on the economic operating curve (154, 156, 158).
