摘要： A developer supply container detachably mountable to a main assembly (55) of an image forming apparatus from above. It includes a developer discharge opening disposed at a developer containing portion; a container-side engaging portion (39) for fixing the developer containing portion by being engaged with a main assembly-side engaging portion (53a, 54a) in the main assembly when the container is mounted ; an operation member (36) for performing a moving operation in the mounted state of the container; and a transmitting portion, in the operation member, for transmitting a driving force for opening and closing the developer discharge opening-to a relay portion provided in the main assembly. When mounted, the operation member may open and close a main assembly shutter member whereby the container-side engaging portion, respectively, retains and releases its engagement with the main assembly-side engaging portion. When the container-side engaging portion is releasing the engagement, the operation member is father away in closing direction, than when the container-side engaging portion is engaging with the main assembly-side engaging portion during mounting of the container.
