摘要： A pavement breaker comprising: a housing (2); a hammer mechanism (318) mounted within the housing (2); at least one handle (16) moveably mounted on the housing (2) and which is capable of moving in at least in a vertical direction when the pavement breaker is orientated in its normal operation orientation; characterised in that there is a sensor (312) mounted within the housing (2) which is capable of detecting when the at least one handle (16) is moved towards or into its uppermost position; and wherein, when the at least one handle (16) is moved towards or into its uppermost position, the sensor (312) prevents the activation of the hammer mechanism (318) when it detects that the at least one handle (16) has moved towards or is in its uppermost position.
