a label assembly (82) including a polymeric film and a layer of adhesive on the film; and
a system for applying labels onto articles, the system comprising (i) a first assembly (10) of a first belt (50) and a first plurality of rollers (30a, 30b, 40a, 40b), the first belt extending around the first plurality of rollers, and (ii) a second assembly (110) of a second belt (150) and a second plurality of rollers (130a, 130b, 140a, 140b), the second belt extending around the second plurality of rollers, wherein the first assembly and the second assembly arranged relative to one another such that a portion of the first belt and a portion of the second belt are aligned with one another to define an article receiving lane between the portion of the first belt and the portion of the second belt, the lane extending in at least two different directions.

摘要： The present invention relates to a method of affixing a label to an object having sides and an end, wherein the sides join the end to form a shoulder, wherein the method comprises:
applying a shrink label around the object, wherein the shrink label extends above the shoulder and extends to an end of the object opposite the shoulder,
heating the shrink label at the shoulder at a sufficient temperature and for a sufficient time to shrink the label extending above the shoulder of the object to contact the shoulder end,
wherein said shrink label comprises a film comprising two outer layers and a core layer, wherein the core layer is arranged between the outer layers and the outer layers each comprise from about 10% to about 30% of the total film thickness and the core layer may comprise from about 70% to about 90% of the total film thickness, wherein:
the outer layers comprise a blend of about 65% to about 99% by weight polyethylene and 0% to about 30% by weight ethylene vinyl acetate, and about 1% to about 5% antiblock; and
the core layer comprises about 0% to about 30% by weight polyethylene, about 30% to about 50% by weight polypropylene, about 10% to about 20% by weight ethylene vinyl acetate, about 10% by weight calcium carbonate masterbatch comprising calcium carbonate in a linear low density polyethylene carrier resin, and about 20% titanium dioxide masterbatch comprising titanium dioxide in a linear low density polyethylene carrier resin.

摘要： The present invention relates to an assembly for selectively contacting one or more regions of a label (820) to a moving container (80), the assembly comprising:
• a moveable frame (850), the frame including at least one frame member pivotally moveable about a pivot axis (842);
• a wiper member (860) engaged to the frame member and moveable therewith, the wiper member including a wiping element (864) for contacting a label;
• a cam follower (870) affixed to the frame and moveable therewith;

摘要： The present invention relates to a method for preventing label defects in a label applied onto a container, the method comprising:
• providing a container (310) having an exterior surface;
• providing a label;
• adhesively applying the label to the exterior surface of the container by use of an effective amount of adhesive disposed between the label and the exterior surface of the container; and
• immediately after application of the label to the exterior surface of the container, heating (320, 330) the applied label and the adhesive to a temperature of at least 30°C within a time period less than 5 seconds.
