    • To provide a process for producing a display apparatus, whereby a display device is less susceptible to breakage, and the interface bonding strength between a resin layer and the display device and the interface bonding strength between the resin layer and a transparent plate (a protective plate) can be increased, while sufficiently suppressing formation of air bubbles in a liquid curable resin composition.
      A process for producing a display apparatus, which comprises (a) a step of forming a seal part made of e.g. a double-sided adhesive tape 12 on the edge of a surface of a display device 50 (a first plate), (b) a step of supplying a liquid photocurable resin composition 14 to a region enclosed by the seal part, (c) a step of laminating, in a reduced-pressure atmosphere of not more than 100 Pa, a transparent plate 10 (a second plate) on the photocurable resin composition 14 thereby to obtain a laminated precursor having the photocurable resin composition 14 hermetically sealed, and (d) a step of curing the photocurable resin composition 14 in such a state that the laminated precursor is placed in a pressure atmosphere of not less than 50 kPa to form a resin layer.

    • The present invention provides a liquid crystal optical device showing small haze value in transparent state and being excellent in productivity, a process for producing such a device, and a liquid crystal composition for producing such a device.
      The liquid crystal composition of the present invention is a liquid crystal composition containing a nematic liquid crystal and at least two types of optically active materials having different optical rotatory directions, wherein one of the optically active materials having different optical rotatory directions is a non-curable compound, the other one of the optically active materials is a curable compound, and the liquid crystal composition as a whole shows a nematic phase. By sandwiching the liquid crystal composition between inner faces of a pair of insulation substrates at least one of which is transparent, and curing the curable compound in a state that the liquid crystal is aligned, it is possible to obtain a liquid crystal optical device showing small haze value in transparent state and being excellent in productivity.

      The liquid crystal optical device in the embodiment 1 of the present invention is a liquid crystal optical device 1 comprising a pair of insulating substrates 11 and 21, of which at least one is transparent, electrodes 12 and 22 formed on respective inner faces of the substrates, and a composite 50 comprising nematic liquid crystal and a cured material, interposed between the inner faces of the substrates. The composite 50 is obtained by curing the following curable compound in the following chiral nematic liquid crystal composition in a state where the liquid crystal composition is interposed between the inner faces of the insulating substrates and the liquid crystal is aligned:
      chiral nematic liquid crystal composition: a liquid crystal composition showing a chiral nematic phase, comprising nematic liquid crystal and a curable compound, wherein at least a part of the curable compound is an optically active material having an optical rotatory power, and the optically active material having an optical rotatory power consists substantially solely of the curable compound.

    • The present invention relates to a process for manufacturing a window material for vehicles, the window material including a curved glass plate, a curved resin plate provided at a side of a concave surface of the curved glass plate and curving along a shape of the curved glass plate, a resin layer sandwiched between the curved glass plate and the curved resin plate, and a sealing portion surrounding a periphery of the resin layer, the process including the following steps (a1) to (d1): (a1) a step of applying a liquid curable resin composition for sealing portion formation to a periphery of a concave surface of a curved glass plate to form an uncured sealing portion; (b1) a step of supplying a liquid curable resin composition for resin layer formation to a region surrounded by the uncured sealing portion; (c1) a step of laminating a curved resin plate on the liquid curable resin composition for resin layer formation under a reduced-pressure atmosphere of 100 Pa or less such that a convex surface of the curved resin plate faces a side of the curable resin composition for resin layer formation, thereby obtaining a laminate in which an uncured resin layer comprising the curable resin composition for resin layer formation is sealed by the curved glass plate, the curved resin plate and the uncured sealing portion; and (dl) a step of curing the uncured sealing portion and the uncured resin layer in a state that the laminate is placed under a pressure atmosphere of 50 kPa or more.
