    • A harness fastener system (1) comprises a plug assembly (23), and a buckle (22) including a detent (15) movable to fasten with the plug assembly (23), and a detent latch (16) operable to engage with the detent (15) for restraining the detent (15) to an unlatched position. For operating the fastener system, a first plug (20) having a first engaging portion (2014) is first coupled with a second plug (21) having a second engaging portion (2114) to form a plug assembly (23). The plug assembly (23) is then placed in a position facing the buckle (22), and the first and second engaging portions coupled with each other are inserted into the buckle (22) to cause the second engaging portion to push the detent latch (16) out of restraining engagement with the detent (15). The unlatched detent (15) can then move to engage with the first engaging portion.

    • A car seat (10) is formed with a harness storage cavity (30) in the car seat shell for placement of the five-point harness to permit the conversion of the car seat into a belt positioning booster configuration without requiring the harness to be removed from the car seat shell. The headrest (17) and back panel pads (18) on the back rest are removed to provide access to the harness storage cavity (30) which is covered by a hinged door (32). The harness buckle and the chest clip, still attached to the harness webbing, are placed into the storage cavity (30) and the door (32) closed to provide a flush surface on the seat back so that the child has a smooth supporting surface. The harness webbing projects out of slots to allow the webbing to lie flat beneath the headrest (17) and back panel pads (18) when replaced over the closed door (32) to the storage cavity (30).

    • A latch mechanism (50) for a tray system (30) of a child's high chair having a tray post (35) and socket mounting arrangement includes a central, front actuation button (52) that moves a slide link (53) mounted underneath the tray system (30). The slide link (53) is connected to actuation arms (57) slidably mounted within respective tray posts (35). Thelatchmember (55) is spring-loaded into engagement with the openings. Front surfaces of arm rests (23) of a high chair structure (10) are sloped to cam the lock pins (55a) into respective tray posts (35) to permit passive mounting of the tray system (30) onto the high chair structure (10), but a non-passive manipulation is required once each lock pin (55a) is engaged to the openings in the sockets (28) to affect positional adjustment or removal from the high chair structure (10).

    • A high chair is equipped with a multiple tray system (30) that is positionally adjustable relative to a high chair structure (10).
