    • There is provided an electric vacuum cleaner which accurately determines a spark failure of an electric blower to prevent smoking and ignition from occurring in the electric blower.
      The electric vacuum cleaner 1 includes a spark detector 31 which detects a spark caused by the friction between a commutator 23 and a carbon brush 26 in the electric blower 10 which causes a suction negative pressure to act on a dust collecting chamber 7; and a control unit 32 which controls the electric blower 10 based on spark detection information from the spark detector 31. The spark detector 31 calculates a difference between a previous value and a most recent value of sampled values; estimates a next value from the difference; and when the difference between an estimated value and a measured value is greater than a predetermined value, the control unit 32 stops the operation of the electric blower 10.

    • There is proposed an electric vacuum cleaner which is excellent in handleability of the vacuum cleaner body, can stably attach and detach the storage unit to and from the vacuum cleaner body, and can maintain a long-term dust collectability of the vacuum cleaner body. The electric vacuum cleaner 1 includes a vacuum cleaner body 2 and a storage base 10. The vacuum cleaner body 2 includes: a main body 19 pivotably supported by a base unit 17; a dust separation/collection unit 26; a dust disposal coupling tube unit 35 communicatively connected to the dust separation/collection unit 26; an intake coupling tube unit 36 communicatively connected to an electric blower 27; and a switching valve 39 which closes communication between the dust separation/collection unit 26 and the electric blower 27 when the intake coupling tube unit 36 is opened. The storage base 10 includes a mounting unit 13; and a dust suction tube 48 and an exhaust pipe 49 communicatively connected to a dust accumulation unit 47. When the vacuum cleaner body 2 is mounted on the mounting unit 13, and the main body 19 is moved up or down, the dust disposal coupling tube unit 35 is joined to the dust suction tube 48 and the intake coupling tube unit 36 is joined to the exhaust pipe 49.
