摘要： A water valve (20), guide tube (30) for a water valve, and associated method of manufacturing a water valve are provided. The water valve includes a housing (22) and the guide tube is installed on the housing via laser welding. The guide tube and housing each provide axially facing mating surfaces (58, 70) which abut one another in a pre-bonded configuration. In a post-bonded configuration, a laser weld joint (44) is formed at the interface between the mating surfaces. The joint forms a portion of an outer periphery of the housing.

摘要： A sensor is installed in the dryer air-stream to verify that an adequate draft is being created by the appliance prior to activating the appliances air-heating system. If the sensor determines that an adequate draft is present, determined, e.g. by a pressure differential in the system, it will allow the appliance's air-heating system (either an electrical element or gas burner) to be activated. If the sensor determines that an inadequate draft is present, this may be symptomatic of a blocked or obstructed air-vent or lint trap, which is a potential hazard. In this case the system will not activate the heating system and an audible and/or visual warning of the failure mode may be displayed.

摘要： A system and method for refrigeration timer control having an energy efficient defrost cycle are provided. The system and method provide a delay time after the refrigeration cycle and prior to the defrost cycle. During this delay period the evaporator fan may run. The fan circulation and the heat from the fan coil provide a pre-warm cycle to the evaporator prior to the defrost cycle. To further enhance energy efficiency, the system and method may also provide a pre-refrigeration cycle after the defrost cycle. During this pre-refrigeration cycle only the compressor is energized. This prevents warm moist air from being circulated until the evaporator coils are cooled.

摘要： The pilot burner assembly and associated method of use is disclosed. This includes a pilot burner having a top portion, a middle portion and a bottom portion, wherein the top portion of the pilot burner includes a hood that is positioned adjacent to an igniter and a thermocouple. The middle portion of the pilot burner includes at least one opening providing an air inlet. During situations where LDO (lint-dust-oil) build-up has occurred, the hood will continue to provide flame to a main burner, but the flame to heat the thermocouple will shrink or lift to the point where it no longer can heat the thermocouple sufficiently to generate enough power to allow for a safety magnet valve to remain energized. This will result in the shutting-off of the associated gas-fired device.

摘要： A manual reset high temperature limit thermostat is provided. The manual reset lockout feature is provided by a lock rod that is outwardly transitioned upon actuation of the thermostat when the sensed temperature reaches its high level limit. A manual reset reset slide then engages the lock rod to prevent automatic resetting of the thermostat once the sensed temperature decreases below the thermostat set point. Resetting of the thermostat once the temperature has decreased may be accomplished by sliding the switch to disengage the reset slide from the locking rod. The thermostat internal snap action mechanism then retracts the lock rod and resets the thermostat's electrical contacts.

摘要： A capacitance probe including a spacer for separating an inner conductor from an outer conductor. The spacer has a member that substantially surrounds the outer conductor and includes a number of spacing elements that extend inwardly through apertures in the outer conductor to position the inner conductor concentrically with the outer conductor. The spacers advantageously are installable from the outside of the outer conductor through apertures in the outer conductor to simplify production of the capacitance probe. The spacers also allow material to fill and drain easily between the conductors, and allow more of the material being measured to make contact with the conductors improving linearity and gain of capacitance measurement. Additional features contributing to the low cost manufacturability of the probe include ability to use conventional materials, such as longitudinal seam stainless steel tubing for the inner and outer conductors, inner conductor insulation fabricated from conventional heat shrink tubing, a relatively simple fitting including a single O-ring for coupling both the inner and outer conductors to the housing.
