    • A chain conveyor comprises a slide-guide (11) for a chain (15) formed of articulated links, below which bodies (19) for link articulation project within a channel (14). The articulation bodies for sequential links form a first seating (20) to receive a hinged-connection pin (21). The pin (21) and seating (20) axes are directed transversely of the sliding direction of the chain on the slide-guide and the seating (20) has an end opening (22) facing a side wall of the channel and constituting the opening for introduction of the pin into the seating. The articulation bodies (19) comprise a second seating (24) which is close to the opening for introduction of the pin into the first seating and receives, by forced fitting, an insert (25) which takes an interposed position between the pin end turned towards the side wall of the channel and the channel side wall itself.

    • A metal chain link designed to form a chain conveyor includes a pair of parallel plates (12a) connected by a pair of articulated joint cross pins (12b) with adjacent links of the chain and said plates being overlain by a cover (14) forming the carrying surface of the link designed to snap-engage on opposite ends of the pins (12b) projecting laterally with respect to said link plates with the cover (14) including first generically U-shaped metal part (17) designed to embrace said plates (12a) and bearing holes (24) for snap coupling with the ends of said pins (12b) on opposite sides of the link and a second generically U-shaped metal part (16) overlying the first to define lateral link guide surfaces and an upper plate (15) overlying the two U-shaped parts (16, 17) to form the carrying surface of the link. Said upper plate (15) is provided with a cavity (29) on the lower side to receive upper parts of the U-shaped parts (16, 17) overlying the chain plates (12a).

    • Method for manufacture of links designed to be interconnected to form a conveyor and including the following steps:

      mold a body (15) of the link of rigid low-friction material with said body being provided with projections (19) protruding from one of its faces, and
      hot-mold on at least part of said face cooled to hardening a high-friction malleable material for formation of a skidproof covering (16) with the high-friction material during molding striking said projections (19) and being injected at a temperature higher than the softening temperature of the rigid material in such a manner as to cause plastic deformation of the projections that originate undercuts (40) with the deformed projections upon completed molding remaining incorporated in the high-friction material to create a mechanical interconnection between the covering (16) and the rigid body (15).
