摘要： A twist beam axle assembly (103, Fig. 4) includes a twist beam (105); two wheel hubs (115); two dampers (119); and first and second bump stops (137). Each bump stop includes a first body (139) having a longitudinal axis (Z-Z), which is inclined with respect to the twist beam (105) and to a vertical axis (V-V); so that when the bump stop (137) is compressed, a component of force is transmitted along the twist beam (105) in a direction A or B (Fig. 4). The dampers and bump stops are inclined towards a longitudinal centre line of the vehicle by an angle of ten to thirty degrees. The bump stops may be co-axial with the dampers, and may be incorporated therein. The lower end of each damper may be connected to a respective wheel hub. Each bump stop may have a non-linear response on compression.
