摘要： A protective garment for protecting military and emergency service personnel comprises an upper body garment having a torso portion formed of flexible material and left and right arm sleeves extending from the torso portion, each sleeve including one or more pockets for retaining a protective armour element to the sleeve. Right and left aide leggings are provided each having retainers for retaining armour elements to the leggings. Each armour element comprises a flexible or rigid ballistic resistant material or structure for protecting the limbs of a wearer against bullets and fragmentation from explosives. The protective garment includes lower sleeve and lower leggings, each of which are detachable from the basic garment.

The system includes a visor adapted for mounting on the shell which comprises a substrate of transparent thermoplastic material (108) and a backing substrate (130) comprising a plurality of layers of high performance, ballistic resistant material. The system may further include a second visor which can be releasably connected to the shell using the same visor mounting and which may have a different construction and primary function.

摘要： A system (100) to provide foot protection against anti-personnel land mines is designed for use by mine clearance personnel and includes a raised frame having a central foot support location thereon which ensures a spacing of the wearer's foot above the ground surface of from 10 to 30 cm. The ground-engaging parts (102, 103) of the frame are spaced forwardly and rearwardly of the foot location (105) and the frame includes on its underside blast protection material (128, 130), the combined results of these measures being to greatly attenuate the blast and fragmentation effects of an exploding mine on the foot of the user. Moreover, the underside of the structure, including legs (102, 103), is aerodynamically shaped to deflect the blast wave loading and fragments generated by the mine detonation.

摘要： A hand protection system for use by individuals involved in de-mining operations to locate and identify buried anti-personnel mines is designed to provide a degree of protection to the hands of the operativ while still enabling the hands to perform necessary operations such as manipulating a probe rod, clearing soil by use of the fingers, etc. In one form (12) the hand protector is a trough-shaped shield which tapers to a rounded forward end (18) and is adapted to fit over the back of the hand of the user, the shield being open on its underside so that the user's fingers can be manipulated. In another form (14) the hand protecting shield is of conical shape having a hole through its narrow end (43) through which a probe (6) can be extended and manipulated by a hand received within the protector. The protector includes laminated layers of aramid fibers together with other tough blast resistant materials such as polycarbonate.
