摘要： An intravenous infusion system that shows infusion flow rate, volume of medication infused, and alarming during malfunction. User intervention to adjust flow rates deviation is possible, using the data already stored in the system prior to the onset of making the adjustment. The system detects flow rate by measuring temperature dynamics in a section of the fluid path, unlike other systems that measures the electromechanical output of the pumping source if the counting of drops is not possible. This fundamental difference allows the invention to be used in any system that has a pumping source that provides a continuous fluid path as it measures actual flow of fluid in a segment of the fluid path, independent of pumping mechanism design.

摘要： This invention relates to a fluid delivery apparatus, system and method, in particular the use of elastic bands (122, 123) to generate the force required to push fluid out from a container. The fluid (410) that is delivered from the container (102) maybe prefilled and stored prior to its actuation by the elastic band driver or it could be filled just before use. In one embodiment disclosed, a prefilled option would require the user to attach an appropriate extension tubing that acts as a flow control tube to the fluid container which in one embodiment is tubular shaped. In the application where the device is filled just before use, the fluid container that would be engaged with the actuating housing is presented with a fixed rate flow tube. The selection of a particular device configuration replaces the need for programming a flow rate into an electronic syringe pump.

摘要： In a method of determining a flow rate in an intravenous fluid delivery system according to one embodiment of the present invention, the fluid delivery channel forms a segment of the intravenous infusion system. An input thermal signal is emitted into a source location of a fluid delivery channel at an emitting instant. A first output thermal signal is received from a first sensor location of the fluid delivery channel at a first receiving instant. The first sensor location is positioned with a first interval downstream from the source location. The input thermal signal, the first output thermal signal, the emitting instant, the first receiving instant and the first interval define a first measured thermal profile. The first measured thermal profile is matched with a reference thermal profile which corresponds to a reference value, and the flow rate can be determined.
