    • An electromagnetic contactor where an interphase partition wall (17) is provided between adjacent main contact points (3). A concave portion (23) is provided in an inner wall face of the interphase partition wall (17) so as to be positioned in the middle in discharge paths (indicated by arrows) of arc gas produced by on/off operation of each main contact point (3). Providing the concave portion (23) causes arc gas heading from an arc generation point toward a discharge window (20) to be held in the concave portion (23) as a drifting place, reducing discharge speed of the arc gas. This results that an amount of heat diffused by heat transfer from the arc gas to the interphase partition wall (17) is increased, so that the temperature of arc gas jetted from the discharge window (20) is lowered. Consequently, damage in distribution cables and melting of the interphase partition wall (17) caused by overheating of a main terminal (6) to which arc gas is blown are prevented from occurring.
