摘要： An apparatus and method of orienting a cylinder (20) with an oblique end such that the slant of same faces a preferred direction. To this end, a special fixture (10) is used which includes a central axial bore (13) having a cylindrical surface which engages in bearing-like fashion with the oblique-ended cylinder. On opposite sides of the bore, are a magnet (14) for imposing a magnetic field across the bore and across therefrom a dowel pin stop (15). The magnetic field acts to rotate the oblique-ended cylinder about the common axis of the bore and cylinder into a generally preferred position wherefrom the oblique-ended cylinder can come to its final resting position against the dowel pin stop. The method for using this fixture requires the alignment of the axis of the fixture and the cylinder, the moving of the two together engaging their cylindrical bearing parts to permit controlled rotary motion under the influence of magnetism and the abutting against a stop which sets the slanted portion of the oblique-ended cylinder in a precise position.

摘要： Physiological pressure transducers convert an applied pressure (e.g. blood pressure) into an electric signal, which can be displayed by a monitor as a numerical value or continuous waveform. While reusable pressure transducers have been used for a number of years, innovations in solid-state technology have made disposable transducers feasible. In particular, disposable assemblies with transducers which are preferably impedance matched for use with monitors formerly used for reusable transducers, are disclosed. The pressure transducer assembly can be rugged on account of the careful mounting of the transducer diaphragm and integral compensation circuitry. In addition, the geometric configuration of the flow path is uniform such that debubbling of the unit is easy.

摘要： An optical fiber transducer system with energy generating means for transmitting pulsing energy at various frequencies to bi-directional couplers for each frequency. The couplers record the intensity and further transmit the pulsing energy to a wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer. The wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer combines the plurality of energy supply means into a single output for an optic fiber which includes an optical delay sufficient to time separate the pulsing waves of energy. Reflected energy is transmitted back through the same wavelength multiplexer/demultiplexer, bi-directional coupler so that the recorded intensity of transmission and reflectance are comparable without system influence.
A method is also shown for use of an optical fiber system including the components set forth and the system requires the generation and combination of the various frequencies of energy in a multiplexer/demultiplexer, the delay for time separation and the detection in a bi-directional coupler of transmitted and reflected energy.
