    • A tapper mechanism has a tapper body (30) driven to rotate and having an incorporated clutch (31), the mechanism further having a driven shaft (32) rotatably held in the tapper body. An engageable claw (33) connected to and carried by the driven shaft (32) releasably engages with the clutch (31) so as to transmit a torque from the tapper body (30) to the driven shaft (32). The driven shaft (32) is movable in an axial direction of the tapper body (30) a predetermined stroke such that the claw (33) is disengaged from the clutch (31), to thereby intercept the torque and switch the driven shaft (32) into a neutral state. The tapper mechanism further has a slipping means such that the claw can quickly disengage from the clutch when it is shifted into the neutral state.
