摘要： The invention relates to a retaining spring (52) for a housing of a partially lined disc brake, in particular an integrated disc brake for motor vehicles, in which a brake carrier (2) of the disc brake is integrated in the steering knuckle (4) of the vehicle. The retaining spring has at least one resilient arm (54, 56) extending substantially in the peripheral direction and bracing the housing and the brake carrier with each other. To attach the housing retaining spring in a pre-assembled state to the brake housing without machining, and consequently to fix the outer lining in the preset position, the invention provides that the housing retaining spring (52) is pivotably attached to a part of the disc brake, in particular to the outer brake lining (16).

A method of making a composite brake adapter for a caliper disc brake assembly comprises the steps of providing a first part of the adapter, the first part (33) being provided with mounting holes to match an axle housing of the assembly and being made of a sheet of metal; placing the first part into a mold, and casting a second part of the adapter into the mold onto a surface of the first part (33). To incorporate additional structural elements of the adapter providing matching the adapter with a caliper of the assembly, the additional structural elements are placed into a precision fixture and secured within the mold prior to casting the second part (35).
