摘要： A door closer or operator includes a pivoting pinion on the door closer housing for transmitting door motion, and a cam connected thereto. A connecting member extends along a spring and engages the peripheral edge of the cam. Rotation of the cam causes a change in length of the portion of the connecting member between the position tangent to the cam peripheral edge and the spring second end to expand or compress the spring, resulting in a force transmitted along a longitudinal axis of the connecting member as a result of spring deflection. The cam peripheral edge has a profile with a varying radial distance between the cam axis and the connecting member at the position tangent to the cam peripheral edge such that the radial distance is changed as the spring expands or compresses to maintain a desired constant torque about the axis of the cam and pinion.

摘要： This lock, which may be coded-keycard operated, has a set-table device on the inside of the door by which the maid, for instance, can be locked out. The lockout setting device is preferably in the form of a pushbutton or deadbolt turnpiece which manipulates a switch in the code-receiving circuitry. The lock-out setting is automatically cancelled when the latch is retracted. When the setting device comprises a deadbolt turnpiece, the deadbolt is biased toward retracted position and the setting device holds the deadbolt extended. When the latch is retracted in the latter version, the retraction cancels the lockout setting and permits the deadbolt to retract under the power of the dead-bolt biasing spring.
The invention also includes a non-code-operated embodiment in which a deadbolt is spring driven to retracted position as the latch is retracted in latching to protect the deadbolt, lock and door frame.

摘要： The vertical slide (20) in the latch linkage of an exit device is coupled for vertical movement together with a channel (22) inside the door stile. The channel holds a pair of blocks (36, 38) having inclined surfaces held in touching relation and relatively slideable. The vertical latch-operating rod is attached to the first of the blocks and the other block is secured to the channel by a horizontally disposed threaded adjusting element. The side walls of the channel restrict the first of the blocks from lateral but not vertical movement. The other block is restricted from lateral movement only by the threaded element, and turning the threaded element moves that block from side to side in the channel to raise or lower the first block as the inclined surfaces slide. This changes the effective length of the rod. The turning of the threaded element may be done from the outside of the door through an access hole.

摘要： This exit device has a press bar (14) and an elongated deadbolt (18) adapted to be mounted horizontally adjacent the free end of the door and a pivoted retractor blade (20) inward of the door. The blade is pivoted by the press bar and engages with its nose a projecting surface (38) on the deadbolt and retracts the deadbolt. The blade also has a keeper contact surface (32a) which, as the door closes, is contacted by the keeper and the blade is pivoted inward to retract the deadbolt. The retractor blade also serves as an anti-friction bearing having a peripheral portion which rolls against the deadbolt and counters against the inward force on the deadbolt opposing to the opening force on the door.
