    • A leg rest assembly includes two connecting boards (13) fixed to an underside of a seat (6) of a chair. An actuation rod unit (3) and a link unit (4) are mounted to each connecting board (13). A rear end of each link unit (4) is pivotably connected to one of the connecting boards (13) and one of the actuation rod units (3). Each link unit (4) has a slot (414) aligned with a guiding groove (15) of one of the connecting boards (13). A guiding rod (415) extends through the slot (414) of each link unit (4), the guiding groove (414) of each connecting board (13), and each actuation rod unit (3). A mounting plate (5) is pivotably connected to a front end of each link unit (4). An operative rod (2) is operable to cause movement of the actuation rod units (3) and to move the mounting plate (5) between a first position in front of the base (1) and a second position received in a compartment (17) between the connecting boards (13).

A footrest system (38) is provided with: a reclining device (40) that rotates an upper end part side of a seatback (22) in the direction of arrow A and holds it at a predetermined angle of rotation; and a slide device (50) that slides a front seat (16) in the direction of arrow B with respect to a vehicle body floor (14). When an occupant (5) seated in a rear seat (18) uses a footrest portion (48) of the seatback (22), the reclining device (40) is operated and the upper end part side of the seatback (22) is inclined toward the vehicle front side. Further, the slide device (50) is operated and a slide portion (54) of a seat cushion (20) is moved in a vehicle front-rear direction along a rail portion (52). In this state, feet (5A) can be placed at the footrest portion (48).

    • The rotation range of an ottoman (4) includes a use range (A) and a release range (B). In the use range (A) the ottoman (4) is substantially movable in an upper direction only. When the ottoman (4) reaches the release range (B) beyond the use range (A), the locking mechanism (L) of the ottoman (4) is changed into an unlocked state and a counterclockwise rotation of the ottoman (4) is permitted.
