    • There are provided a motor control device capable of more surely detecting a short-circuit failure of at least one of a motor current blocking unit and a power source blocking unit regardless of a driving state and the like of a motor driving circuit, an electric power steering device, and a vehicle using the motor control device. The motor control device includes plural motor current blocking units that, in blocking operation, individually block energization between plural motor driving circuits and multi-phase motor windings of a multi-phase electric motor and an abnormality detecting unit that detects a short-circuit failure of the motor current blocking units. The abnormality detecting unit causes one or more motor current blocking units of the plural motor current blocking units to perform a blocking operation during energization between the plural motor driving circuits and the multi-phase electric motor, and, during the blocking operation, detects a short-circuit failure of the motor current blocking units caused to perform the blocking operation based on current values of currents flowing to the plural motor driving circuits.

    • A frequency converter (1) is used to produce at least one frequency converter output voltage (S1, S2, S3) for an electric motor (2), wherein the at least one frequency converter output voltage (S1, S2, S3) has a prescribable frequency converter output voltage amplitude (AA) and a prescribable frequency converter output voltage frequency (AF).     • Object of the present disclosure is to improve accuracy of over-temperature protection of an electric motor (1). A control device (7) controls an inverter main circuit (2) for driving the electric motor (1). An electric power conversion circuit controller (4) acquires DC voltage input to the inverter main circuit (2), output voltage of the inverter main circuit (2), motor amperage of current flowing through the electric motor (1), and motor frequencies indicating rotation rate of the electric motor (1). Based on at least one of the DC voltage, output voltage, motor amperage and motor frequencies, a motor loss estimator (5) calculates a stator loss and rotor loss, each including fundamental and harmonic losses of the electric motor (1). Based on the inverter output voltage, stator loss and rotor loss, the electric power conversion circuit controller (4) outputs an actual control value for control of the inverter main circuit (2).
