摘要： A digital-printing substrate and method of improving adhesion of a substrate to an liquid electrophotographic (LEP) ink in LEP printing both employ a composite coating. The composite coating includes from 4.5% to 9.5% by weight of a mineral pigment and from 0.5% to 2% by weight of an organic binder uniformly dispersed in water. The mineral pigment has a particle size less than 1 micron. The organic binder comprises a hydroxylated polymer having an average molecular weight greater than 50,000. A weight percentage of hydroxyl groups in the hydroxylated polymer is equal to or greater than a weight percentage of acidic groups in an LEP ink. The composite coating enhances adhesion of the LEP ink to the substrate comprising the composite coating dried on a surface of the substrate.

These objectives can be achieved according to the present invention by using florescent toner in the fifth print module station of an electrophotographic printer equipped with five print modules, where four printing stations are equipped with black, yellow, magenta and cyan toners and a fifth station is equipped with substantially clear fluorescent toners to be printed on top of the color toners
In further developments of the present invention, the clear fluorescent toner absorbs light in the UV-A range or comprises metallic pigments or metallic effect pigments added to the clear fluorescent toner.

摘要： In an image-forming method having a fixing step of fixing a toner image onto a recording medium, and having at least a low-speed mode and a high-speed mode so as to be able to form images at different speeds;
the recording medium has a gloss value (60-degree gloss) represented by G 0 and the toner is laid on the recording medium in a quantity ranging from 0.05 mg/cm 2 to 1.3 mg/cm 2 , under conditions of which;
(i) when a recording medium having a high gloss (G 0 > 40) is used, an image is formed at a low-speed mode having a process speed of from 20 mm/sec. to less than 130 mm/sec. and, where the maximum value and minimum value of gloss value of the fixed image are represented by G max1 and G min1 , respectively, they satisfy: G max1 ≤ G 0 + 40 and G min1 ≥ G 0 - 25; and
(ii) when a recording medium having a low gloss (0 ≤ G 0 ≤ 40) is used, an image is formed at a high-speed mode having a process speed of from 130 mm/sec. to 600 mm/sec. and, where the maximum value and minimum value of gloss value of the fixed image are represented by G max2 and G min2 , respectively, they satisfy: G max2 ≤ G 0 + 20 and G min2 ≥ G 0 - 15.

摘要： A method for producing printed products, according to which method the surface of a sheet of paper or board is printed by the electrophotography technique or a similar printing method, wherein a dry finely-divided printing ink is transferred onto the printing base by means of an electric field. According to the invention, a paper or board is used the printing surface of which has a pigment-containing coating layer in which at least 20 % of the pigment is made up of a hydrous pigment, such as gypsum, or in which at least 20 % of the filler is made up of a hydrous filler, such as gypsum. When a gypsum pigment and/or a gypsum filler is used, the quality of the printed image is not sensitive to the control quantities used in the printing press. By means of the invention, a very regular print is indeed obtained, and so the invention is especially well suited for the printing of a sheet of a very matt paper or board.

摘要： The present invention discloses an improved method for transferring an image (40) onto an object (10) which has a surface that curves I two directions. After providing a source (50) containing an image (40) capable of thermal transfer, a target surface (20) is chosen on the object (10) and a chemical coating (340) is applied. The image (40) is then pressed onto the coated target surface (20) until the target surface (20) is substantially flat and heated so that the image (40) is transferred to the target surface (20). The coating (340) allows the image (40) to be transferred at a low temperature. In a preferred embodiment, after the source (50) is removed, a second application of heat is applied to the object (10) to drive the image (40) into the object (10). A protective material (120) may be positioned between the heating element (160) and the image (40), especially before the second application of heat.
