摘要： Provided is a many-sided reflection prism (20) formed as a single body with a plurality of reflection faces (23,25,27,29) which guides a light beam incident through a transmission face in a horizontal direction (ho) perpendicular to a height direction (hi) by reducing a size of the light beam in the height direction by using a difference in angles between the reflection faces (25,27) and reflects the guided light beam in the height direction by one reflection face (29) of an angle less than 45° with respect to the horizontal direction. By using the many-sided reflection prism, the height of an optical system can be reduced regardless of the wavelength used without reducing light beam size, and slim-sized optical pickups can be implemented.

摘要： An optical disk apparatus for reading information from tracks traces the track with the focused spot of a light beam depending on the tracking error signal obtained from the optical system for tracking error detection. The tracking error detecting optical system includes an optical apparatus having a photodetector (136) for cutputting, as the tracking error signal, a differential value of outputs of a plurality of light receiving sections for receiving the light beam focused by the condenser lens. Also, an optical element (145) is provided for relatively increasing and/or decreasing the amount of receiving light of a light receiving section depending on displacement of the optical axis of the light beam, in order to balance the light received by the light receiving sections and compensate for effect. Such optical apparatus can eliminate offset resulting from assembling errors and can also correct offset in the photodetector of any optical system.

摘要： An optical head apparatus consists of a semiconductor laser for radiating a light beam, a first collimator lens for collimating the light beam, a wedge-like prism for reshaping the light beam, a beam splitter for transmitting the light beam in an outgoing path and splitting the light beam in an incoming path, an objective lens for converging the light beam at an information medium in which information is stored, a plane type of hologram lens integrally formed with the objective lens for excessively correcting chromatic aberration of the objective lens to cancel out chromatic aberration of the collimator lens, a second collimator lens for converging the light beam splitted, a photo detector for detecting intensity of the light beam converged to obtain an information signal and servo signals, and an actuating unit for slightly moving the objective lens and the hologram lens according to the servo signals. A wavelength of the light beam is lengthened as intensity of the light beam is increased. Even though an astigmatic difference occurs in the semiconductor laser, the change of a focal length of the collimator lens cancels out the change of the astigmatic difference to prevent the occurrence of astigmatic aberration.
