    • There is provided a refrigerator including a thermally insulated cabinet, a door body which is openably mounted to an opening portion of the thermally insulated cabinet, cooling means for cooling air within the thermally insulated cabinet to create cooled air, and a cooled-air circulation path for guiding cooled air between refrigerating room (1102) and the cooling means, wherein duct (1129a) which forms the cooled-air circulation path is formed to have a lateral width smaller than a lateral width of refrigerating room (1102) and, further, duct (1129a) includes, in its side surfaces, discharge ports (1130a to 1130f) for discharging cooled air into refrigerating room (1102) and suction port (1131a) for sucking cooled air from refrigerating room (1102). Further, chamber spaces (1302) are provided between the duct side surfaces and the inner side surfaces of the room, while there is no chamber space on the duct upper surface. This prevents the inconvenience of freeze of foods and the like in the refrigerating room, further improves the appearance of the refrigerating room and, further, maintains the uniformity of the temperature within the entire refrigerating room.

The conveying device (30) comprises a first section (31) which runs through a plurality of treatment positions and which extends from the insertion gate (23) to a position of return (33), a second section (32) which runs through a plurality of treatment positions and which extends from the point of return (33) to the exit gate (24), and a return section (34) which is arranged upstream of the exit gate (24) and which connects an exit-side region of the second section (32) to an insertion-side region of the first section (31) to optionally exit articles or continue cooling them. The cooling tunnel according to the invention allows a high throughput at variable set cooling times and while maintaining the same in a narrow tolerance range. The invention also relates to a method for operating a cooling tunnel or a pallet cooling system.
