    • An extrusion head assembly (10) for adjustably positioning a view stripe (68) in a tubular parison to correct the view stripe positioning in situations where twisting of the parison prior to molding occurs. The apparatus includes an externally adjustable member (46) which circumferentially positions the view stripe in the parison relative to the extrusion head assembly so that the view stripe will correspond with the mold parting line of a container blow molded from the parison. The adjustable member circumferentially positions the view stripe without causing the development of stagnation pockets in the stream of the plastic forming the view stripe. Degregation is prevented by dividing the flow of the plastic forming the view stripe into two streams which individually and continuously flow from a common inlet port (42) to a common exit port (48).

    • A cluch assembly (20) for a manual seat adjusting is provided which includes a stationary cylindrical housing (84) in which is disposed a pair of coil cluch springs (68,70). The springs (68,70) are biased to expand radially outwardly into frictional engagement with the housing (84) whereby rotation of the springs is prevented. A torsion tube (24) extending concentrically through said housing (84) is coupled to the springs (68,70) so that rotation of the torsion tube (24) is prevented when the springs are fictionally engaging the housing (84). A release handle (56) is provided to selectively release one spring or the other enabling rotation of the torsion tube (24) in one direction. The manual seat adjuster linkage (20) is coupled to the torsion tube (24) to raise and lower the seat upon rotation of the torsion tube.

    • An injection mold machine is disclosed having a pressure assist nozzle (14). The machine has an extruder (16), a nozzle (18), and an housing (24) mounted between the extruder and nozzle. The housing (24) encloses the pressure assist nozzle (14) and a fluidic passage (22) connecting the extruder and the nozzle. A bore (30) within the housing extends into the fluidic passage to define a portion of the passage between the extruder and the nozzle. The bore (30) has an aperture (32) within a side wall which acts as a valve opening within the passage which, when closed, prevents flow between the extruder and the nozzle. An annular sleeve (36) is reciprocated within the bore between a retract position, in which the annular sleeve (36) is withdrawn from the passage, and an extend position, in which the annular sleeve (36) is projected into the passage so as to close the aperture (32). A plunger piston (50) reciprocally resides within the annular sleeve (36). The plunger piston (50) is held in a retracted position by the annular sleeve (36) while the annular sleeve is in its retract position. When the annular sleeve (36) has been actuated to close the aperture (32), the plunger piston (50) becomes coupled with the annular sleeve (36) and accompanies the annular sleeve as it continues toward the extend position such that the plunger piston (50) acts to compress the melt within the molds.

    • A method of manufacturing a portion of a vehicle seat assembly utilizing a stylized forming tool (26) and bonding a seat cover to a foam seat bun (24) having a predetermined surface contour (25). The seat cover is positioned exterior side down on the stylized forming tool (26). A film of air impermeable material (14) is then placed over the seat cover and a vacuum is applied between the impermeable material and the forming tool (26) so as to draw the seat cover down into substantial conformity with style lines on the upper surface (28) of the forming tool (26). The impermeable material (14) is then removed and an adhesive coated foam seat bun (24) is positioned and compressed against the seat cover on the forming tool. Once the seat cover and the seat bun are bonded together by the adhesive, the seat assembly is removed from the forming tool. The outer edges of the seat covers are then fastened together or to the underside of the seat bun so as to complete the assembly of the seat portion.
