    • The present invention is directed to a portable hose cutoff saw (10) having a stable base structure comprising a front plate (26) and a back plate (28), a top plate (24) extending transversely between the front (26) and back (28) plates interconnecting said front (26) and back (28) plates, and at least one connecting member (30a, 36b) extending transversely between a bottom portion of the front (26) and back (28) plates. The present invention also provides for a portable hose cutoff saw (10) having a plurality of slideably adjustable hose biasing pins (34a-34d) that may be adjusted to optimally bias the hose at or about a portion of a hose to be cut by the saw (10), thereby resulting in a consistent and straight cut of the hose.

    • The invention relates to a portable rail cutting apparatus (10), comprising a housing encasing a motor (20), said motor (20) configured to drive a rotary abrasive blade (40); a drive pulley (30A) coupled to said motor (20); a driven pulley (30B) coupled to said rotary abrasive blade (40); a loop drive belt (30C) engaged by said drive pulley (30A) and by said driven pulley (30B); and an adjustable protective guard member (40A), partially surrounding said rotary abrasive blade (40), that includes a detent mechanism (40B) configured to provide integral travel positions for said adjustable protective guard member (40A), said detent mechanism (40B) containing a series of first locking elements (40N) defining said integral travel positions and a spring-actuated second lock structure (40D), wherein said detent mechanism (40B) is disposed proximate to a periphery of said adjustable protective guard member (40A), and wherein said spring-actuated second lock structure is movable into a locking position wherein it engages one of said first locking elements to lock said adjustable protective guard member (40A) into one of said integral travel positions and movable into a releasing position wherein it is enabling the adjustment of said protective guard member.
