摘要： A flat IC tag contains memory means capable of data storage and transmission means capable of data transmission. The IC tag has on a surface thereof an unvulcanized rubber having identical properties to the unvulcanized rubber used for an article to which the IC tag is mounted. The opposite surface of the IC tag is mounted to the article before vulcanization. The article is vulcanized in this state to mount the IC tag to the article. Hence, the IC tag is not damaged if attached to tires and other articles in harsh operating environment.

摘要： The present invention relates to a reliable transponder 3 for a tire and a reliable transponder-provided tire which are not broken while the tire runs or the tire is formed or cured, by using various metallic component members used in the tire as an antenna directly connected to the transponder 3 and thereby, further decreasing the transponder 3 in size. For example, by electrically directly connecting the transponder 3 with a conductive wire 131 or bead wire 161 in a jointless belt 13A set to the inner and outer peripheries of the tire, the wire 131 or bead wire 161 is used as the receiving and transmitting antenna of the transponder 3. Thereby, it is possible to decrease the transponder 3 in size and to increase the communication distance between an interrogator and the transponder 3 without increasing the transmission power of the interrogator.

摘要： An active integrated circuit transponder (10) with on-board power supply (14) is mounted in or on a vehicle tire (60). A pressure sensor (50), a temperature sensor (110) and a tire rotation sensor (120) are mounted on a substrate (12) along with the integrated circuit transponder chip, the power supply (14) and an antenna (36). 摘要： A transponder communicates information on a physical condition to a remote location, without the need for a local power supply or any wire or optical communications with the remote location, by detecting the physical condition and encoding information on the condition into a reprogrammable portion of the transponder memory for transmission in response to an interrogation signal. The encoder is preferably formed from an oscillator that provides an output signal whose frequency is a function of the information provided by the detector, and a counter that accumulates a count which is a function of the oscillator frequency, with the counter programming the memory in accordance with its accumulated count. A variable capacitor, resistor or inductor is preferably used to detect the physical condition and vary the oscillator's output frequency. A bubble wrap-type variable capacitor is particularly useful for monitoring the quantity of air within a tire.
