    • The invention relates to an electric machine having a first stator element (1), a second stator element (2), and a rotor (3) which is connected to a rotor shaft (4). The rotor shaft (4) is rotatably mounted in bearings (5) such that the rotor (3) can be rotated about a rotational axis (6). The rotor (3) is arranged between the first and the second stator element (1, 2) when seen in a radial direction with respect to the rotational axis (6). The first stator element (1) supports a stator winding system, and the second stator element (2) supports a number of permanent magnets (8). The permanent magnets (8) generate magnetic fields (B) which are oriented towards the rotor (3) and away from the rotor (3) in an alternating manner when seen in a direction about the rotational axis (6). The rotor (3) has a number of soft-magnetic segments (11) which are distributed in a uniform manner when seen in a tangential direction about the rotational axis (6) and between each of which nonmagnetic and poorly electrically conductive or non-conductive regions (12) are located.

    • This publication relates to a coil slot for 6 poled CVRM with 60 degrees angle between the centre of the slots. The slot have a shape so the two planes through centre of the first layer of coil wires wound into two adjacent slots are parallel and that the bottom of the slot has a length so all wires in the first layer touch each other and that the sides walls of the slot has an angle of 60 degrees to the bottom so there is one extra wire in each new wire layer and that the side walls go over to top walls which are perpendicular to the bottom of the slot and that the outer top wall is extended all the way to the centre of the slot where the chamber against the outer top wall for the next coil is smaller than the wire radius and that the inner top wall of two adjacent slots are collinear and that the extension of the inner top walls are outside the inner radius of the teeth and that the outer top walls are collinear.

    • A switched reluctance starter/generator (100) is presented which has a stator (102) mounted within a housing (104) having an outer periphery and a plurality of salient poles (130) defining an inner periphery, the salient poles further defining slots (134) therebetween. A stator cooling sleeve (136) is press fit on the outer periphery of the stator and defines a plurality of cooling channels (126) between the outer periphery of the stator and the housing. A plurality of phase windings (110) are wound on the plurality of salient poles, and phase winding retainers are positioned within the slots for securing the phase windings on the salient stator poles. The winding retainers comprise a triangular base separator, a quasi-dove-tail retaining member, and two opposing wedge shaped expanders. A rotor assembly (168) is rotatably positioned within the stator, and comprises a hollow shaft assembly (118) and a rotor core (116) having a plurality of salient poles (138) press fit on the outer periphery of the shaft. The hollow shaft assembly comprises an outer sleeve (144) and an inner cooling sleeve (142). The inner periphery of the inner cooling sleeve defines an interior void of the shaft. The outer periphery of the inner cooling sleeve is press fit on the inner periphery of the outer sleeve and defines a plurality of cooling channels (150) between the inner periphery of the outer sleeve and the outer periphery of the inner cooling sleeve. The stator windings are wound from hollow core conductors (152), and are coupled to external sources of cooling fluid and electrical energy by electrical/hydraulic terminal connectors.
