    • A process for producing a vinyl chloride polymer which comprises suspension-polymerizing a vinyl chloride monomer or a mixture of a vinyl chloride monomer and a monomer copolymerizable therewith in a polymerization vessel equipped with a reflux condenser, wherein (A) during a certain time in the period from initiation of heat removal by the reflux condenser to termination of the polymerization, a highly active oil-soluble polymerization initiator having a 10-hour half-life temperature of 40°C or lower as measured in benzene in a concentration of 0.1 mol/L is added to the reaction mixture and (B) at least throughout the period from initiation of the addition of the highly active oil-soluble polymerization initiator to termination thereof, an antioxidant is continuously or intermittently added to the reaction mixture. Thus, a process for producing a vinyl chloride polymer through aqueous-suspension polymerization in a polymerization vessel equipped with a reflux condenser can be improved. The ability to remove heat can be efficiently utilized to attain a reduction in polymerization time. In addition, a vinyl chloride polymer of satisfactory quality extremely reduced in fish eyes can be produced.

    • The present invention is directed to a shaped plastic roof tile preferably one shaped like a slate tile. The tile is constructed of the combination of a thermoplastic, preferably one or more polyolefin polymers, and a chlorine containing polymer in an amount to provide a final chlorine content to the tile of between 1% and 65% by weight. The polyolefin polymer is preferably a combination of polyethylene and polypropylene derived from recycled material. The chlorine containing polymer is one or more polymers selected from the group consisting of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC), polyvinylidene dichloride (PVDC), chlorinated polyolefin, acrylate modified PVC, neoprene rubber, copolymers of vinyl chloride with ethylene, propylene, vinyl acetate, vinyl dichloride, and butadiene, copolymers of vinylidene chloride with butyl acrylate and nitrile, and polymer blends of PVC with acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile (ASA), nitrile rubber, and polyvinyl acetate (EVA). Preferably, the chlorine containing polymer is recycled neoprene rubber.

    • The invention discloses a dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound comprising a vinyl alcohol polymer (A) having a content of an ethylene unit of 0.5 to 10 mol%, a degree of saponification of 60 mol% or more and a degree of polymerization of 600 or more and a vinyl alcohol polymer (B) selected from a vinyl alcohol polymer (B1) having a content of an ethylene unit of 0.5 to 10 mol%, a degree of saponification of 20 to 80 mol% and a degree of polymerization of 100 to 600, a vinyl alcohol polymer (B2) having a degree of saponification of 20 to 60 mol% and a degree of polymerization of 100 to 600 and a vinyl alcohol polymer (B3) having a content of an ethylene unit of 0.5 to 10 mol%, a degree of saponification of 90 mol% or more and a degree of polymerization of 1,000 or more. Further, the invention discloses a process for suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound using the dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization.
      The dispersion stabilizer for suspension polymerization of the vinyl compound in the invention, by the use of a small amount, exhibits quite an excellent suspension polymerization stability. Further, the suspension polymerization of a vinyl compound using this dispersion stabilizer can produce porous vinyl polymer granules having a sharp particle size distribution and a high bulk density. In the polymer granules, a rate of plasticizer absorption is high to give a high processability, a monomer remaining in polymer granules is easy to remove, and fish eyes in a molded product are decreased in the molding.
    • 本发明公开了一种乙烯基化合物的悬浮聚合用分散稳定剂,其含有乙烯单元的含量为0.5〜10摩尔%,皂化度为60摩尔%以上且聚合度的乙烯醇系聚合物(A) 为600以上,乙烯醇系聚合物(B)选自乙烯单元为0.5〜10摩尔%,皂化度为20〜80摩尔%的乙烯醇系聚合物(B1)和聚合度 为100〜600,皂化度为20〜60摩尔%,聚合度为100〜600的乙烯醇系聚合物(B2)和乙烯单元的含量为乙烯单元的乙烯醇系聚合物(B3)为0.5〜 10摩尔%,皂化度为90摩尔%以上,聚合度为1000以上。 此外,本发明公开了使用悬浮聚合用分散稳定剂的乙烯基化合物的悬浮聚合方法。 本发明中的乙烯基化合物的悬浮聚合用分散稳定剂,通过使用少量,具有非常优异的悬浮聚合稳定性。 此外,使用该分散稳定剂的乙烯基化合物的悬浮聚合可以制造具有尖锐的粒度分布和高堆积密度的多孔乙烯基聚合物颗粒。 在聚合物颗粒中,增塑剂吸收率高,可以提高加工性,聚合物颗粒中残留的单体易于除去,成型体中的成型品中的鱼眼降低。
