    • The invention relates to a disc saw blade (2) with a saw chain (12) mounted around the circumference of a circular disk (4), which saw chain (12) is provided with driving links (6), connecting links (8) and cutting links (10). By means of the driving links (6), the chain is guided in at least one chain groove (14) arranged around the periphery of the disk, against the bottom (18) of which groove, a part (22) of each driving link that projects radially inwards can make contact. The bottom (18) of the groove has radial projections (20) distributed around the circumference and the driving link has a cam surface (24) on the part (22) that projects radially inwards, for interaction with the respective radial projection (20). The chain (12) can move from a neutral position, in which the respective part (22) that projects inwards is loosely inserted between two adjacent radial projections (20), to a working position, in which the respective cam surfaces (24) are in contact with the associated radial projections (20).

    • A chain saw 1 has a body 3 in which a stratified scavenging 2-cycle engine 5 for driving a saw chain 21 is laterally housed and a top handle 41 provided above the body 3. In other words, by laterally disposing the engine 5, an air port can be installed upward to a cylinder, and an air quantity adjusting device for feeding scavenging air to the air port and the carburetor can be well housed in the top handle 41. The body (3) and the top handle (41) are connected by a connecting spring such that vibration transmission from the body (3) to the top handle (41) is restrained. In other words, since the heavy oil tank (431) and the weighty fuel tank (443) are integrally formed with the top handle (41) to trim the weight of the body (3) that generates vibration, vibration transmitted to the top handle (41) is decreased to improve the vibration insulation of a chain saw (1).

    • The cooperative operational relationship among an ignition switch, choke mechanism and air filter unit for a portable power tool are integrated in a way to improve that relationship. The ignition switch and choke mechanism are arranged in a coactive relationship wherein the ignition switch and a choke lever in the choke mechanism have engaging parts such that the ignition switch is moved to an "On" position by the choke lever when the choke lever is moved to a position where it has reduced the air flow to a carburetor. A spring engaging the ignition switch is biased for applying a force to the ignition switch in a direction toward a mounting element on which the ignition switch is mounted and away from the choke lever. In a particular embodiment, the ignition switch is mounted on the air filter unit.
