摘要： An electronic printing method by which originals are photographically reproduced by exposing high-contrast copy material with an intensity modulated illumination source that coarsely scans the original while the original is sharply imaged with a well-corrected optical system. The source intensity is modulated to compensate for the original's tonal qualities and electronically shapes the response of the copy material to enhance tonal reproduction. The imaging system in conjunction with the high-contrast material assures high reproduction of detail. The method enhances copy sharpness and reduces copy time, memory and computational needs otherwise required for copies of comparable quality.

摘要： A photographic printer has an exposure station, in which a frame of a photographic film (12) and color photographic paper (22) are set. A light source (10,45,54) is disposed in opposition to the color paper with reference to the photographic film (12) set in the exposure station, and constituted by LED elements (13-15,51-53). The LED elements are disposed in a matrix for emitting light of red, green and blue colors. The light source illuminates the frame from behind. The color paper is exposed by the light transmitted through the frame, to print the frame recorded on the photographic film to the color paper. In a preferred embodiment, a drive (16) signal is determined individually for driving respective the LED elements. The drive signal is applied to the respective LED elements.
