    • A swash plate angle changing device for swash plate type piston pump motors comprising a cylinder block provided in a casing (1) to be rotatable with a shaft, a plurality of pistons slidingly inserted into the cylinder block in parallel to the shaft, and a swash plate swingably mounted to the casing to have its surface guide the plurality of pistons in a circumferential direction and adapted to change strokes of the pistons by changing its inclination. The swash plate is formed at its rear surface with first and second abutting surfaces, which forms a predetermined angle between them, and the casing is formed with a swash plate bearing surface which is perpendicular to the shaft and with which the first and second abutting surfaces contact. The casing is provided with a swash plate angle changing piston. The swash plate is swung by a resultant force of thrusts of the pistons directed toward the swash plate to a large swash plate angle position, at which the first abutting surface contacts with the swash plate bearing surface, and by a thrust of the swash plate angle changing piston to a small swash plate angle position, at which the second abutting surface contacts with the swash plate bearing surface. The center, about which the swash plate swings, is nearer to the front surface of the swash plate than to the rear surface thereof.

    • s7 An axial piston pump comprises a drive shaft (2), a cylinder block (4) rotatable with the drive shaft (2), a plurality of pistons (6a-6i) provided within the cylinder block (4), a swashplate (12) situated at one axial end of the cylinder block (4) for causing reciprocation of the pistons (6a-6i) when the said cylinder block (4) is rotated, and a valve plate (26) situated at a second axial end of the cylinder block (4) ; wherein either one of the cylinder block (4) or valve plate (26) is urged against the other to form a hydrostatic seal between the cylinder block (4) and a face (52) of the said valve plate (26). The pump may be characterised by one or both of the following features :-A spiral groove bearing (50) is provided between the valve plate (26) and the cylinder block (4).
      The valve plate (26) is urged against the cylinder block (4) by means of a second piston (60) which has an arcuate load face.
      Additionally, an axial piston pump comprises a drive shaft (2), a cylinder block (4) rotatable with the drive shaft (2), a plurality of pistons (6a-6i) provided within the cylinder block (4), a swashplate (12) situated at one axial end of the cylinder block (4) for causing reciprocation of the pistons (6a-6i) when the cylinder block (4) is rotated ; the said swashplate (12) being provided with a curved back, the curved back being seated within a curved recess in a swashplate cradle (14), a hydrostatic bearing (70, 72) being formed between the said curved back of the swashplate (12) and the curved recess of the swashplate cradle (14), and the said swashplate (12) being capable of swivelling within the said recess ; wherein high pressure oil is supplied to the said hydrostatic bearing (70,72) via a passage provided in at least one of the said pistons and via a hole (80) provided in the body of the said swashplate (12).

    • A bent axis type variable displacement hydraulic machine employing hydrostatic radial bearings (20;31;47) for supporting hydraulic reaction forces exerted on the cylinder block 8. In a hydraulic machine (8) of this sort, the number of pistons which (10) are located in the high pressure are varies with the rotation of the cylinder block (8), and the resultant force of hydraulic reaction forces has an acting point at a position off the axis of the rotational shaft (5;45). Therefore, the hydrostatic radial bearings (20;31;47) are located in such positions as to balance the moment loads which occur about the rotational shaft (5;45) in relation with the acting point of the resultant force of radial hydraulic reaction forces on the drive disc (6;46) of the rotational shaft (5;45). As a result, it becomes possible to lead to suppression of oil leaks from the sliding surfaces (12) to a minimal rate and to prevent abnormal abrasive wear of each of the sliding surfaces (12).
