    • An erroneous operation of an optical sensor is prevented while eliminating the restriction on the degree of freedom of design. A gun type controller comprises a lens for condensing a light beam coming in via a muzzle, and an optical sensor (18) for detecting the condensed light wherein, a shielding case (50) for covering the lens and the optical sensor so that no ambient light other than the light from the muzzle may come. The shielding case covers the whole face of the optical sensor and the substrate portion on which the optical sensor is mounted. At the joint portion between parts (50A) and (50B) constituting the shielding case, there are formed notches (54A) and (54B) for through holes of a signal terminal (19). A projection is formed at the joint portion of the part (50A), and a fitting portion is formed at the joint portion of the part (50B). There is also formed a projection which is deformed, when a substrate (70) is press-fitted in slits (52A) and (52B), for closing the clearance between the slits and the substrate. It may also be possible to cover the substrate wholly with the shielding case or to attach the optical sensor directly to the inside of the shielding case.
