摘要： A system for automatically opening basket doors (32,34) of an automatic washer (10). The automatic washer includes an enclosure (12) having an opening provided with a lid (18) hingedly connected to the enclosure for selectively covering the enclosure opening. An imperforate tub (20) disposed within the enclosure surrounds a rotatable perforate wash basket (28) having an opening (30) for accessing the interior of the basket. A first door flap (32) having an engagement opening (64) and a second door flap (34) having a catch portion (66,68) extending therefrom are provided being hingedly mounted on opposite rims of the basket opening and being biased toward their open position and further being adapted to partially overlap one another in a closed position such that the catch portion (66,68) engages the engagement opening (64) for locking the first door flap and the second door flap in a closed position. A tab (63) extends from the second door flap (34) generally opposite the main portion of the second door flap beyond the hinged connection with the basket. A tab engagement arm (63) is disposed adjacent the basket for selectively engaging the tab for disengaging the second door flap from the first door flap. The tab engagement arm (63) is interconnected with the lid such that moving the lid (18) from a closed position to an open position causes the tab engagement arm to disengage the respective door flaps.

摘要： An automatic washer having an imperforate wash tub (34), a perforate wash basket (36) disposed within the tub and rotatable about a vertical axis and a bottom plate (80) disposed within the lower portion of the wash basket and mounted for wobbling motion. A motor (100) is selectively interconnected with the basket and bottom plate for rotating the basket and the bottom plate together and for wobbling the bottom plate relative to the wash basket while the basket is held stationary such that the clothes items are agitated within the wash basket. A controlled rotation device is provided for driving the bottom plate in a wobbling motion while rotating the bottom plate, at a reduced rate, within the bottom of the wash basket. In a second embodiment, the wobble plate is supported and constrained to be driven in a wobbling motion while experiencing no rotation within the basket. A liquid level control system is also provided for supplying an optimum quantity of wash liquid into the tub wherein the clothes items within the wash basket are washed in an out-of-water wash process rather than being submerged. A recirculation system operates to pump wash liquid from a sump (72), disposed in the bottom of the tub, through a recirculation line (74) and onto and through the clothes disposed within basket.

摘要： A filter cartridge comprising an elongated sheet of porous filter material folded into an array of primary pleats is further folded to define secondary pleats which are tucked between the primary pleats. The secondary pleats define tapered portions at the top and bottom of the filter media, thereby reducing the width of the pleats at the top and bottom thereof to a width less than the primary width of the pleats, to thereby minimize the amount of sealant required to seal the ends of the pleats. The secondary pleats also resist radial and circumferential collapse of the pleats during filtering.

摘要： A test for an electronically controlled braking system, such as an adaptive braking system, is made to assure that the solenoids of each of the modulators (52, 54, 66, 68) are properly wired. According to the test, each modulator (52, 54, 66, 68) is tested in sequence. The exhaust solenoid of a modulator (52, 54, 66, 68) is actuated for 10 milliseconds, and the hold solenoid is then actuated for 30 milliseconds. If the modulator (52, 54, 66, 68) has been miswired, the exhaust solenoid will have been actuated for 30 milliseconds, thus generating a much louder 'popping' sound than that generated by the other modulators (52, 54, 66, 68) will be immediately noticed and corrected.

摘要： A method and apparatus for processing two high speed signals through a single high speed input terminal of a microprocessor uses a multiplexing circuit connected between the signal conditioners from the wheel speed sensor and the microprocessor. The multiplexing circuit converts the square wave signal as generated by the signal conditioning circuits into a series of interrupts. The multiplexing circuit includes three hardware semaphores or flip-flops which are set by the interrupts generated from wheel speed signals. The semaphores or flip-flops are reset by the microprocessor.
