    • 8 The bolt (12) of the lockset is held in a partially extended latching position when the door (2) is open, but automatically moves to a fully extended dead bolt position when the door is closed. More particularly, a pin (276) connected to the bolt (12) engages a shoulder (388) to hold the bolt in the latching position, but a cam member (398, 402) is provided which, as the pin (276) is advanced with the bolt (12) following full retraction thereof during closure of the door, is positioned to enable the pin (276) to ride up over the shoulder (388) to a dead bolt position. The cam member (398,402) forms part of a bolt release plunger (392) movable with the bolt when the door is open, but held retracted by the striker plate (18) when the door is closed. A turn button (26) is provided for holding the bolt (12) out of its dead bolt position, if desired, even when the door is closed.

    • The bolt (12) of the lockset is movable between a retracted position, a partially extended latching position and a fully extended deadbolt position, through an arrangement of pinions (150, 210) interconnected by a spindle (58) and operated by rack plates (136, 196) respectively of outside and inside operating assemblies (27, 44). The bolt (12) is held in its latching position, from which it can be retracted by the outside and inside operating assemblies (27, 44) by means of a turn button (26) when the latter is in a "locked" position. Movement of said button (26) to an "unlocked" position causes the bolt (12) to be moved to its deadbolt position. In this position the bolt can not be retracted by the outside assembly (27), because of the interaction of a lug (148) and notch (146) associated with the outside rack plate (136), but can be retracted by the inside assembly (44). The turn button (26) is moved to its unlocked position either by hand or by means of a lock (22) associated with the outside assembly (27).

    • L'invention propose un système de fermeture à verrouillage mécanique dans lequel il est prévu deux emplacements d'installation de serrure (A et B) qui sont indifféremment utilisables en réception de moyens entraîneurs, tel un pignon (P) de sortie de cylindre à clé, pour servir à la commande de pênes dormants par l'intermédiaire d'une tringlerie. En forme de réalisation préférée, la tringlerie comportent deux tringles (T1, T2) qui se superposent au niveau de plaques de tringle (10, 20) dans lesquelles sont ménagées des crémaillères formant organes de couplage avec lesdits moyens entraîneurs (P). Un dispositif à pêne demi-tour (C) est disposé dans une zone centrale entre les deux emplacements de serrure hors des crémaillères. Il comporte un pêne demi-tour biseauté (31) monté à retournement sur un support porte-pêne (32) lui-même monté mobile transversalement au système entre une position de retrait et une position de sortie du pêne demi-tour. Le support porte-pêne (32) et la tringlerie sont configurés de telle sorte que la tringlerie (T1-T2) bloque le support porte-pêne (32) dans sa position de pêne sorti lors du verrouillage des pênes dormants.
