    • Disclosed is a device for cutting flat, two-dimensional materials made mostly of minerals, particularly glass, with an adjustable scale to a reference edge of said material. The inventive device comprises a frame with cutting tools which are arranged across from each other and simultaneously act on both sides of the material surfaces, and elements for guiding the device along the reference edge of the material during the cutting process and for the universal handling thereof regardless of the position and/or geographical location of the material. Said device has a combination of the following characteristics: a) the frame (2) is provided with a cutter head (3) and fork-shaped arms (2.1), the distance between the loose ends of said fork-shaped arms being adjustable under tension; b) cutting tools (3.1) which embody the cutter head (3) and are fixed to the loose ends of the arms (2.1) act on the material surfaces (5.1) to be cut by means of the tension in the arms (2.1); c) first guiding rollers which are adjustable relative to the positions of the material surfaces are associated with the cutting tools (3.1); d) a guide rail (2.3) is integrated into one arm (2.1), on which an adjustable and lockable traverse piece (4) is arranged in the longitudinal direction of the arm (2.1) in order to adjust the cutting distance from the reference edge; and e) the traverse piece (4) is provided with a guide head (4.1) with an adjustable pretension, which encompasses the reference edge of the material to be cut, is guided along said reference edge, and is adjustable to the thickness of the material (5), and a handle (4.2) for using the device (1) and for the operator to directly influence the way in which said device is guided.
