摘要： A membrane module (5) comprising a plurality of porous membranes (6), a gas-lift pump apparatus (11) in fluid communication with the module (5) for providing a two- phase gas/liquid flow such that, in use, the two-phase gas/liquid flow moves past the surfaces of the membranes (6) to dislodge fouling materials therefrom. The gas-lift pump device (11) includes: a vertically disposed chamber (12) of predetermined dimensions submersed to a predetermined depth in a liquid medium (15), wherein the chamber (12) has an upper portion (10) in fluid communication with the membrane module (5) and a lower portion (13) in fluid communication with the liquid medium (15); a source of gas (14) in fluid communication with the chamber (12) at a predetermined location therein for flowing gas at a predetermined rate into the chamber (12) to produce the two-phase gas/liquid mixture and to produce a flow of the mixture into the membrane module (5). The dimensions of the chamber (12), the submersion depth of the chamber (12), the rate of flow of gas and the location of gas flow into the chamber (12) are selected to optimize a flow rate of the two phase gas/liquid mixture into the module (5).

摘要： Wastewater can be purified in a device, which includes a cup-shaped vessel, having a wastewater inlet tube for the water at a certain level and an outlet tube at a lower level than the inlet tube, and a horizontal distribution disc, which vertically divides the vessel, has at least one opening and is provided with a substantially vertical distribution tube for receiving the water from the inlet tube. Water above the distribution disc is pumped through a filter head with a filter. Filtered water is let out through the outlet tube, whereas unfiltered water is transferred back to the distribution tube. Flocculation agent is added to the unfiltered water before reaching the distribution tube.

摘要： The invention relates to a method for treating flowable media, by means of which impurities are removed from the respective medium. Also disclosed is a device that is suitable for carrying out said method. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution which allows efficient filtering while making it possible to effectively and easily rinse the filter by switching to a backwashing mode. Said aim is achieved by the fact that the medium that is to be treated flows through at least one inclined filter reactor (6, 6') in order for particulate impurities to be removed, the filter (7, 7') of said at least one filter reactor (6, 6') being cleaned in a cyclic or acyclic manner by means of a backwashing operation that runs counter to the direction of flow during filtering. The medium penetrates the filter reactor (6, 6') from the bottom to the top during filtering while the rinsing medium is directed through the filter reactor (6, 6') from the top to the bottom in order to clean the filter (7, 7'). A granular filtering material which has a smaller density than the medium that is to be treated and forms a layered structure in the top area of the filter reactor (6, 6') during filtering is used as a filter (7, 7').

摘要： A filtering element has ultrafiltration or microfiltration hollow fiber membranes extending horizontally between a pair of opposed horizontally spaced, vertically extending headers. Side plates extending between the pair of vertically extending headers define a vertical flow channel through the element. Modules are created by placing the elements in place without obstructing the vertical flow channels. Each element may be released from the frame, however, and removed by sliding it in a direction substantially normal to its headers without disassembling the remainder of the module. The elements have associated releasable water tight fittings between the elements and a permeate collector, the releasable water tight fittings being releasable by removing an element from the frame. An aerator below the module has a plurality of air holes located to provide a line of air holes below each element or below a side plate between each pair of elements. In a preferred process, permeate flux is less than 50 L/m /h and preferably less than 35 L/m /h, aeration to scrub the membranes is provided during periods of time when permeation is periodically stopped and accumulated solids are removed by periodically emptying and refilling a tank containing the elements. A bubble point test is applied to each row of the module in turn, the presence of bubbles in a particular flow channel indicating which, if any, elements of a row are suitable.
