摘要： A boot (20) is disclosed for use with a snowboard (22) having binding means for attachment to the boot. The boot includes a base (24), a highback (26), and an upper (28). The base includes a binding receiving plate (58) for attaching the boot to the binding means (64, 66) on the snowboard. The base also has toe and heel ends. The base (24) is formed with a toecap (30) at the toe end and a heel counter (32) at the heel end. Treat (34) projects from the bottom of the base for traction when the boot is not attached to the snowboard. The highback (26) extends upwardly from the heel counter (32) of the base. The high back provides aft support to the user. The upper (28) is fixedly attached to the base and is arranged and configured to receive the foot and ankle of the user. The upper has a rearward side adjacent the highback. The upper is more flexible than the base and the highback. A base strap (72) is connected to opposing sides of the base and extends across a portion of the upper.

摘要： A braking system for an in-line skate, for use with in-line skates having a chassis and boot assembly and a cuff pivotally mounted thereon, preferably including a plate secured to the cuff at one of the pivot points, to rotate relative to the boot with rotation of the cuff. A cable is attached to the plate a short distance from the pivot point, and is routed to lead rearwardly from the lower edge of the plate and thence through a cable housing connected to the boot and chassis near the heel area, and thence forwardly to the area of the wheels. At least one brake assembly is connected to the cable and is configured such that braking action is initiated when the cable is pulled by rearward rotation of the cuff relative to the chassis and boot assembly.

In the structure the lever is at a second end pivoted to said frame and at an intermediate zone thereof hinged to a rack which commands means for forcing at least one brake element on to a lateral surface of one or more of the wheels. This solution obtains an effective braking operation, while keeping the wheels of both skates firmly in contact with the ground, even should the skate be travelling at a high speed.
