    • Systems and methods for the efficient characterization of acceleration events in accordance embodiments of the invention are disclosed. In one embodiment of the invention, an acceleration characterization telematics system includes an acceleration sensor, a storage device, where the storage device is configured to store an acceleration event characterization application, and a processor, wherein the acceleration event characterization application configures the processor to receive acceleration information using the acceleration sensor, determine short interval filter information using the received acceleration information, determine long interval filter information using the received acceleration information, and characterize an acceleration event in the received acceleration information using the received acceleration information, the short interval filter information, and the long interval filter information.

    • The present invention provides a case for an impact detector (100, 1100) having a weight (120, 130) to move from an initial position when a detection target of the impact detector (100, 1100) inclines more than a predetermined angle, includes a front case (300); a first rear case (200) to be covered by the front case (300), including a guide member set at a first inclination angle, through which the weight moves; a second rear case (1200) to be covered by the front case (300), including a guide member set at a second inclination angle different from the first inclination angle, through which the weight moves; and a resistance reducer to reduce moving resistance of the weight, including a first resistance reducer (329R, 329L, 329C) disposed at a same angle as the guide member of the first rear case (200) and a second resistance reducer (323R, 323L, 323C) disposed apart from the first resistance reducer. The front case (300) is used in common for both the first rear case (200) and the second rear case (1200) and selectively for each of the first rear case and the second rear case; the weight contacts the second resistance reducer when the front case (300) is attached to the first rear case (200); and the weight contacts the first resistance reducer and the second resistance reducer when the front case (300) is attached to the second rear case (1200).

    • An impact detector (100) includes a weight (510), a case (400,200) in which a transition path (231) for the weight (510) is formed, a planar elastic member (320) extending in the case (400,200) with a first end oriented in a direction in which the weight (510) moves upon an impact in a first direction, a fixing member (242,2687,462) fixing the planar member to the case (400,200). The planar elastic member (320) includes a folded portion (323), a first arm (321) having an end holding the weight (510) at an initial position, that deforms to release the weight (510) upon the impact, and a second arm (322).
      The fixing member (242,268,462) includes a sandwiching portion (242,462) sandwiching a center portion of the folded portion (323) and a contact portion (242b,242c) in contact with the first arm (321) and the second arm (322). A packaging container (700) includes the impact detector (100).
