摘要： After a high-pressure container 1 is mounted to a charging jig 2, on-off valves 82 and 83 are closed, and on-off valves 81 and 84 are opened, so as to draw a vacuum in each of a charging path7, the charging jig 2 and the high-pressure container 1. After drawing the vacuum, the on-off valve 84 is closed, the on-off valve 83 is opened, for charging a hydrogen from a combustible gas source 43 into the high-pressure container 1 through a charging port 11. When a pressure within the container reaches a predetermined pressure, the on-off valve 81 and 83 are closed. In this manner, the hydrogen is charged into the high-pressure container 1 in a range except a flammable range. Then, the on-off valve 84 is opened to draw a vacuum only in the charging path 7. After drawing the vacuum, the on-off valve 84 is closed and the on-off valve 82 is opened to charge an oxygen from an oxdizer gas source 5 into the high-pressure container 1. In this manner, the oxygen is charged into the high-pressure container 1 in a range except the flammable range. If a pressure within the high-pressure container 1 reaches a predetermined pressure, a sealing member operating mechanism 3 is operated so that the charging port 11 of the high-pressure container 1 is sealed by a sealing member 12.

By detecting this raise in pressure by the pressure sensor 12, the fear of a feed gas flowing backward to the purge gas introduction line B can be quickly detected.

摘要： A liquid dispensing system and a packaging apparatus which includes such a system has a chamber 6 of a chryogenic vessel 2 containing a reservoir of liquid gas 1 (such as nitrogen, oxygen or argon) which is to be dispensed in doses 26 through an outlet port 12 which is in constant communication with a sub-chamber 17. The sub-chamber 17 is part of a piston 16 and cylinder 15 device in which the piston is reciprocated by means 21 and 24 to expand and contract the sub-chamber. When the sub-chamber 17 is expanded, liquid gas enters from the reservoir 1 through flow ports 18 which are closed by the piston 16 during contraction of the sub-chamber to dispense a dose 26.
Mounted beneath the outlet port 12 is a tubular skirt 25 having internal passages 30 through which purging gas is directed into the region 29 adjacent to the outlet port 12. The region 29 is purged of air to alleviate ice build-up at the outlet port 12. The purging gas liquifies at a temperature not greater than the temperature of the liquid gas at the outlet port and provides a back-pressure at the outlet port to restrain flow of liquid gas therethrough prior to the contraction of the sub-chamber 17 to dispense a dose.
The doses 26 are dispensed into open topped containers 34 that are moved successively beneath the outlet port 12 and means 50 is provided for sensing the containers and controlling the devices 21 and 24 to maintain synchronisation between the dispensing and the movement of the containers.

摘要： A control assembly 6 is described for controlling the flow of gas from a gas generating cartridge 21 into a gas bottle (not shown) to be charged and whose neck is inserted into a recess 16. The bottle cannot be inserted until a latch 44 has been pushed upward by means of a button 50 and until an operating lever (not shown) has been rotated sufficiently to turn a spindle portion 64 through 90 o into a recess 66. The button is then released to latch the bottle and the operating lever closes a micro-switch in series with a second micro-switch which is only closed when the neck of the bottle is in recess 16. These micro-switches electrically energise an ignition unit in the cartridge 20 and gas generation starts. Gas passes through a sintered metal filter 28 and through a bore in a piston 78 and a pin 80 into recess 16, escaping around the outside of the gas bottle neck thus purging contaminants. The gas pressure moves piston 78 and pin 80 to the right and the distal end of the pin sealingly enters the bottle. Gas pressure opens a check valve in the bottle neck and charges the bottle. When peak pressure is reached, the check valve automatically closes. The operating lever then moves spindle portion 64 clockwise which opens a depressurising valve 82, allowing any still-present gas in manifold 74 to pass via bore 85 to the underside of piston 78, thus withdrawing pin 80. Button 50 can now be depressed to enable the charged bottle to be removed.

摘要： In order to provide improved efficiency, e.g. in terms of how to operate and maintain a liquid natural gas (LNG) transfer system, while also improving the environmental friendliness of the transfer operation, there is disclosed a method and system of transferring liquid natural gas from a first container 104 to a second container 106 via a pump station 108. The first container 104 is positioned close to the pump station 108 by a truck 110, and the second container 106 is positioned close to the pump station 108 by a ship 112. Repeated transfer of LNG is provided using first and second dry couplings 304, 308 and, after transfer is complete, disconnecting the second dry coupling 308 from the second container and providing a flow of liquid natural gas back into the first container utilising an overpressure in the insulated pipes or hoses 202, 208 and in pipes of the pump station relatively to the pressure in the first container and by replacing the first container 104 with a filled first container when the first container is empty.
