摘要： A dispenser (10) from which sheet material (12) may be dispensed from a supply of the sheet material carried on the dispenser (10). The dispenser (10) has a frame (18) on which the roll (13) of sheet material is journaled for rotation about its axis. That guard strip (30) is resiliently movable by pulling the sheet material (12) toward the cutting edge (26) to allow the cutting edge to transversely sever the sheet material being pulled from the dispenser (10).

The protective members (34) have a structure wherein the bottom surfaces of two hemispheres of different diameters face each other and the flange portion (35a,35b) of the bottom edges are linked while separated by a fixed gap, and are also disposed above said circular cutting blade (32) at a distance such that the fingertip does not reach the cutting blade when adhesive tape (1) is pushed down by hand and cut.
