摘要： The present invention has an object to improve a tolerance of a refractory to be used repeatedly or for a long period of time, such as a refractory for casting, especially a nozzle for casting and an SN plate. The refractory for casting of the present invention contains Al 4 O 4 C in the range of 15 to 60% by mass, both inclusive, an Al component as a metal in the range of 1.2 to 10.0 % by mass, both inclusive, and a balance including Al 2 O 3 , a free C, and other refractory component; a sum of Al 4 O 4 C, Al 2 O 3 , and the Al component as a metal is 85% or more by mass; and a content of Al 4 O 4 C (Al 4 O 4 C), a content of the Al component as a metal (Al), and a content of the free carbon (C) satisfy following Equation 1 and Equation 2. 1.0 ≤ C / Al 1 O 4 C × 0.038 + Al × 0.33 1.0 ≥ C / Al 4 O 4 C × 0.13 + Al × 0.67

摘要： The present invention is directed to preventing a refractory material comprising a CaO component from hydration (slaking) of CaO, in a production stage, during storage and in a casting stage, over long periods. Specifically, the present invention provides a refractory product comprising CaO component-containing refractory particles and MgO component-containing refractory particles. The refractory material contains, in terms of a chemical composition measured after it has undergone heating in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 1000°C, one or more metal oxides selected from the group consisting of B 2 O 3 , TiO 2 , V 2 O 5 , P 2 O 5 and SiO 2 in a total amount of 0.1 to 5.0 mass%, and free carbon in an amount of 2 to 35 mass%, with the remainder including CaO and MgO whose mass ratio (CaO/MgO) is in the range of 0.1 to 1.5, wherein, in microscopic observation performed at room temperature on a sample of the refractory material which has undergone heating in a non-oxidizing atmosphere at 1000°C, an inorganic film comprised of CaO and the one or more metal oxides is formed in at least each CaO surface of the refractory particles each containing either one or both of a CaO component and an MgO component, with a thickness of 0.1 to 25 µm.

摘要： A casting nozzle suited to manufacture a casting material of pure magnesium or magnesium alloy is provided. A nozzle 1 is utilized to manufacture a casting material 100 by supplying molten metal to a portion between rolls 10 which become a casting die, and arranged so that a pouring port 4 is located between a pair of rolls 10 opposed to other. This nozzle 1 includes a main body 1a formed of oxide material such as alumina, and a coating layer 3 which is provided on the inner surface of the main body 1a which comes into contact the molten metal, and formed of material that does not include oxygen substantially. Since the main body 1a does not come into direct contact with the molten metal due to the coating layer 3, it is possible to prevent oxygen included in the main body 1a from reacting with the molten metal. Further, in the nozzle 1, a casting die contact portion 2 which comes into contact with the rollers 10 is formed of thermal insulation material, whereby it is prevented that the molten metal in the nozzle 1 is cooled through the casting die contact portion 2 by the rollers 10.

摘要： A nozzle for continuous casting of a clean steel capable of eliminating the adhesion of Al2O3 inclusions to the wall surface of a nozzle inside hole and sufficiently developing the effect of a swing vane as a measure against the drift of molten steel flow flowing down in the nozzle inside hole in the continuous casting of molten steel. The nozzle is formed of a refractory manufactured by controlling a CaO/MgO weight percent and an apparent porosity, and the swing vane is installed in the inside hole in which an inner layer of 3 to 20 mm in thickness is formed as an annular refractory. Thus, the adhesion of Al2O3 inclusions to the wall surface of the inside hole and the swing vane can be effectively prevented and the drift of the molten steel can be effectively prevented over a long period. Since inert gas is jetted between the upper nozzle and the upper position of the swing vane, the mixing of Al2O3 inclusions into the molten steel can be suppressed by promoting the rise of the inclusions to stably perform the operation and provide excellent highly clean steel quality.

摘要： A nozzle (1) is described for delivering a flow of liquid metal from a metallurgical vessel. In combination with inert gas, the nozzle can shield the flow of liquid metal from oxygen and, additionally, can be used to purge liquid metal residing in the metallurgical vessel. The nozzle includes a substantially gas-impermeable liner (9) surrounded by a permeable composition (10). The gas-impermeable liner may comprise a resin-bonded material, and the permeable liner is preferably a carbon-bonded or castable refractory. A metal housing (14) may surround the nozzle.
