摘要： Systems, apparatus, user equipment (UE), evolved node B(eNB), and methods are described for machine-type communications (MTC) with early termination of repeated transmissions. In MTC implementations with narrow bandwidth, significant numbers of retransmissions may be scheduled based on channel quality measurements. If data is successfully decoded at a receiving device while a significant number of retransmissions remain, system resources are wasted. Embodiments described herein thus use downlink control messaging or intermediate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) messaging for early termination of repeated messages.

摘要： An eNodeB (eNB), user equipment (UE) and method for operating in enhanced coverage (EC) modes are generally described. The UE may determine whether or not a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) signal and an uplink signal allocated to different resources in a particular subframe overlap. The uplink signal may comprise another PUCCH signal or a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) signal. The PUCCH signals may comprise a scheduling request or acknowledgement response/retransmission request. The UE may select one of the overlapping signals and transmit the selected signal on a resource allocated to the other signal instead of on a resource allocated to the one of the overlapping signals. The other signal may or may not be transmitted dependent on whether it is a PUCCH or PUSCH signal.

One embodiment includes control circuitry configured to determine a super-frame structure, wherein the super-frame structure is set, at least in part, on a bandwidth of the narrowband deployment. The embodiment further comprises circuitry to determine configuration information for a UE in communication with the eNB, generate a configuration for an MTC Control Format Indicator (M-CFI) for the UE to indicate the determined configuration information, and transmit the M-CFI through a narrowband M-PCFICH within the super-frame structure.

A unified waveform can be applied to both UL and DL transmissions. Several Demodulation Reference Signal (DM-RS) designs are also described. A hybrid mode for UL transmissions is also described.

The MTC device include a wireless transceiver to receive a signal through the LTE network, a soft buffer configured to store a plurality of soft channel bits for up to a maximum number of hybrid automatic retransmission request (HARQ) processes, and a signal processing unit. The signal processing unit is configured to determine a total number of soft channel bits based at least on the maximum number of HARQ processes, and to use limited buffer rate matching (LBRM) to store a reduced number of the total number of soft channel bits in the soft buffer.

The transmission mode component is configured to selectively allocate resources for device-to-device communication according to a plurality of transmission modes. The plurality of transmission modes include a first transmission mode in which the resources used by the UE are specifically allocated by one of a base station or relay node and a second transmission mode in which the UE selects the resources from a pool of available resources. The selection component is configured to select a selected transmission mode. The transmission component is configured to transmit signals in frequency resources selected according to the selected transmission mode.
