摘要： An optical tag (14), having a photo-detector (401), a controller (405), a piezoelectric translater (407), a battery (412) and a retro- reflective tape (409). The photo-detector is responsive to optical energy at a predetermined wavelength, and the controller is connected to the output of the photo-detector. The piezoelectric translator is connected to the controller and also to the battery when the photo- detector responds to the optical energy. The retro-reflective tape is directly mounted on the piezoelectric translator. When the connection between the piezoelectric translator and the battery is established, a pulse is generated and applied to the retro-reflective tape. Therefore, the optical energy incident on the retro-reflective tape is modulated by the pulse and retro-reflected by the retro- reflective tape.

摘要： A method for modeling semiconductor devices which utilize a measured-to-modeled microscope as a fundamental analysis basis for constructing a physically-based model by correlating measured model performance changes to experimental device changes designed to controllably change physical aspects of the advise. The effects of the process perturbation can then be attributed to changes in measurable internal characteristics of the device. With thorough process perturbation to measured model PM2 experimentation, the full range of device performance can be expressed in terms of the microscopes model-basis space, thus forming a single unified compact device technology model, able to accurately model measured performance changes over a relatively wide range of possible physical and environment changes to the device. The model is able to model internal device physical device operating mechanisms that are critical to the device technology, such as charge control in FET's or current control in BJT's.

摘要： There is provided a radar system for protecting a radar compartment from a transmitted radar beam. The radar system comprises an antenna having a transmitter surface for transmitting the radar beam. There is further provided a protective member having an outer protective surface. In addition, an alignment member is disposed between the antenna and the protective member. 摘要： A method and an apparatus for increasing detection signal-to-noise ratio, while reading out a hologram from a holographic storage medium (18), are disclosed. The hologram is written by interfering a write reference beam (16) with an object beam (50). The method comprises the steps of (1) effecting multiple sequential hologram-read operations using multiple read reference beams separated from each other by a separation angle; (2) shifting the detector array contents in between hologram-read operations such that the data signal patterns incident on the detector array are approximately identical but the incident scatter noise patterns are uncorrelated; and (3) integrating the multiple hologram readouts electronically on the detector array. The apparatus comprises a laser source, a beamsteerer, a detector array and a shifting device.

摘要： A microbicidal filter system having superior drop pressure and low complexity is provided, as well as a method for producing the same. The system comprises a plurality of glass beads (60) having pores formed therebetween for the flow of air therethrough. The sintered glass beads (60) are coated in a transition metal oxide and water. An ultraviolet light source (62) is used to cause a photocatalytic reaction between the transition metal oxide and water. Free hydroxyl radicals with microbicidal properties are formed. Urethane foam (28a, 28b) may be inserted between the glass beads (12) before sintering in order to cause a bimodal pore size distribution, and particulates (30a, 30b, 30c) disposed on the glass beads (912) bay be added to alter surface activity.
