    • The tilting cylinder (5) of the tiltable cab (3) of a truck (1) is pivotally connected between cab (3) and chassis (1). The cylinder end and the piston rod (8) end have a connection eye (7) which has one or more interior chambers (9). In each chamber (9) a ring (10) of rubber of similar material is placed with an interference fit relative to the chamber side wall and relative to the pivot pin (8) which is in engagement with the eye.
      The remaining eye aperture has a clearance relative to the pin.
      During driving the occuring forces are received by the rubber ring or rings (10) but when tilting the cab the resulting larger forces compress the rings and said forces are supported by direct metal contact between the remaining eye aperture portions and the pivot pin (8). The rattling noise during driving is eliminated while at the same time the rubber has a long useful life.

    • This invention relates to an hydraulic piston-cylinder device (1) adapted for tilting the driver's cab of a truck. According to the invention a relief duct (8a) is connected to at least one of the ducts (5,7) which connect the opposite ends of the piston-cylinder device to the control valve (4a), said duct being the one which is connected with the hydraulic pump (3) when the control valve (4a) is in its tilting position, a valve (9) in said relief duct cooperating with means adapted to sense the position of the gear box and/or the praking brake, in such a way, that said valve will be closed only in one or more selected positions of the gear box and/or when the parking brake is in a determined position. The features just referred to constitute a safeguard against the initiation of tilting movements which would be dangerous in certain situations and consequently should be avoided.

    • A gear shift connecting apparatus (70) of the type operable to latch and release a gear shift rod (24) of a tiltable tractor cab (12) to a chassis portion (14) of the tractor. The gear shift connection apparatus includes a housing (32) operably connected to the tractor chassis and a connection member (26) fashioned on the lowermost portion of the gear shift rod. A hydraulically actuated connecting/release assembly (76) is mounted within the housing and includes a cylindrical cup (32) operable to receive the connection portion (26) of the gear shift rod. In a connection mode spherical locking members (92) carried by a cylindrical sleeve (84) radially engage a connection portion (30) of the gear shift rod (24). A locking/disabling sleeve (106) is telescopically mounted about the cylindrical sleeve and is biased in a posture to retain the spherical locking members. The locking members are then cammed out of engagement with the gear shift rod to permit the gear shift rod to be separated from the housing and tractor chassis.
